New job!

I've been headhunted! (Wow, that sounds very posh! 8))

My commitment to the b____ cause, teasmaids and c___ t___ must've been noticed within the industry because I went to an interview after work yesterday and they loved me!

It's a great company but I've no monetary reasons to leave here.

My job prospects where I am are great and I've just been given a hefty pay rise, however this agency could quite possibly pay more and the work is much more hands on.
It's also in Marylebone which means a further trek across London when I move into the bunker.

...also, given that I'm just about to move into a new home, is it worth the risk?

(Yes of course it is Robder.) ;)

:D :D :D

((Still not 100% sure though.))

OK, I haven't quite understood what's better about the new job vis-a-vis your current position (other than perhaps the lack of Sarah and Sue )

Yes - April 1st :? ...I'll have to make sure it's after midday.

The job is much better because I'll be involved in putting together long term company strategies and managing the new business section - which will mean lots of face to face contact (and less f*rting around on Spotlight ).

My job at the moment is great in that I'm working with some massive clients but the actual job itself is very office based and after a year has become slightly factory line.

I could stay here and do really well - plus have the added bonus of being able to cope with a million trashy weekends - but this would mean drifting through with the safe option...and I'm not a drifter. ;)

(btw - Sarah got locked in the board room the other day and I pretended not to notice so I could derive sadistic pleasure from harking at her squeals! It was far too funny.)

Will you stop saying it like that?!?! 8O

You have this amazing ability of making me feel really old! I swear no one else ever has!

I can see I'm going to have to cut b___ ties when I get to 35.

Gee, Robder... sounds like you might actually be looking at career advancement there. Scary thing, that career advancement stuff  I say go for it, if you think you'll like the work better and the pay prospects are equal or greater.

I got headhunted for 2 of my past 3 jobs (incl. current). Great feeling, isn't it?

  I apologise!

I'll stop mentioning your age, although I did enjoy marvelling at your lack of wrinkles on sunday. (god, I really do go on and on about it don't I 8O :? note to self - I am incredibly annoying)

No, compliments are always fine! I'll quite happily cultivate those! ;)

Well done S______ :D

What is your gut feeling on this, I always go with my instincts when it comes to jobs, if you can see yourself working at this new company, it's got equally as good or better benefits etc then go for it, you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain :D

And with re to coping on Mondays in a new job after heavy wkends it's a walk in the park, after one week you'll have mastered the art of looking busy on a Monday without actually doing anything and making sure you don't have any important meetings scheduled on a Monday ;)

It's July I worry about! 8O

You know how it gets! I might try and negotiate a 'No Mondays in July' clause in my contact so I can keep up with pressing b___ demands. We're always so busy with the cause around that time of year after all.

By the summer comes tho you'll be an old hand at your new job and be able to do it standing on your head still funked on a Monday

From the Saturday section:

"Saturday and Sunday are unlucky days for babies to walk around Bethnal Green: thus the saying ‘Saturday babies never stay, Sunday babies fall from balconies".

That's uncanny! 8O
