In the very early 90s Michael Alig, party king (and club kid killer) from the Disco 2000 era of Limelight in NY, once made a cooking show with his friend James St. James that shows you how to properly make Special K. You steal the ketamine from the vet's office, then you bake the liquid in a Pyrex pan - when the liquid evaporates, you scrape the powder into a little vial, take it to the club and have a ball. Your horse will not be able to get its operation but you will be able to enter the dreaded K hole.

Also around 1993, the giant slide at the old Club USA in NY was called the K Hole. I once slid down like a child when I was straight and a guy at the bottom told me that the only time you should take the slide is when you're properly messed up. I got properly messed up with him and some horrible K (yucky toss! Terrible drug - give me E any day), took to the slide again and nearly pulled the S&M mannequin at the top of the slide down with me. The MTV VJs there in attendance prevented me from accessing the slide again (probably because it made their party look boring). 8)

I think the scene I'm referring to is in a documentary called Party Monster - that's what I recommend to people who are curious about that time.
A lot of the original club kids are still throwing parties on a smaller scale these days. I was at a party a few months ago called Charm School University and I got to see Debbie Harry, Nina Hagen and Kelly Osbourne, and legends and new club kids were everywhere: Kenny Kenny, Amanda Lepore, Astro Earle, Richie Rich, Larry Tee...the whole lot. The music was nice and the place was packed with beautiful and interesting people. And they're all off drugs so everyone was happy and drunk. 8)
