i got this free glasshouse promotional cd when i was on ibiza in july. the cover of the cd is red-ish, sunset-stylee. ...but unfortunately i don't have the tracklist...and now i hope you house freakz can help me out with the track id's
(i think it's all well-known tunes from this summer)
1. begins with a man's voice "let's talk about funk...what is funk? funk is raw uncut...you can't put a limit on funk...you can't control funk" and so on and then the beat comes in...any ideas?
2. must be "put'em high" from stonebridge
3. woman singing "so guess our meaning is right - to make the things alright" (or something like that). this one is funky! with background vocals
4. again woman/women singing "sunshine - oh yeah, just come on in...don't need to...?" can anybody help me?
5. man talking: "please do not be alarmed, remain calm, do not attempt to leave the dancefloor...this is only a test" i'm sure this one is well-known...
6. background sample "say yeah" and then other samples "let the mu....(sic?)" and "the same old...(song/thing?)" with a funky bassline
7. this one is difficult to explain...a bit a more progressive one, without any vocals (does anyone have this cd and knows the name of this tune?)
8. either junior jack's stupidisco or dave armstrong's make your move...what's the difference? the one i have begins with the samples "cross the line, make your move" (again and again) and then the whole chorus arrives.
9. well, this one's easy...shapeshifters' lola's theme
10. "i found a place where we can boogie" i feel like i know this tune for years, but can't name it...and i think it might be a newer remix...? (there's some background vocals: "are you ready? are you ready? i hope you're ready! i hope you're ready!"
11. tune with a sample from michael jackson's "i just can't stop lovin' you"
12. tune with mucho mucho cool saxophon, no vocals, just the sax.
13. this must be rocking music from martin solveig (much singing with "rocking music" in the chorus)
14. also a well-known one, i think: woman singing. chorus goes like: "i lift you up and bring you down, i freak you up, spin you around, i make you feel like no one ever did before"
15. vocal sample "come on, get up everybody" and the rest i unfortunately don't really understand...but the sample is quite dominating in the beginning and then a woman is singing "i was so right, i was so strong"
and the last one
16. woman singing "every day and every way always and a day, baby would you please hold me up with your love?" chorus: hold me up...also well known...
that's it - i hope you guys can give me these track id's!
thanks in advance
and greets from switzerland (we just got our first snow in the mountains...brrrr!!!)
