Hey guys/girls,

My buddies and I are planning a trip to Ibiza for '05. We luck out in that we have a time share but the only week that it is available is Sept. 17th - 24th.

How is it at this time. We would like to hit up most of the clubs while we are there and we want to make sure that we are not missing out on anything by going so late in the season(if it even is late)

please help me out i need to confim the hotel as soon as possible.

also this is a link to the hotel that we have in mind: http://www.ibiza-hotels.com/torrentbay/index.html does anyone on this board know anything about this place? is it clost to the clubs/bars? do we need a car or is there public transportation?

thanks for all your help.

If you want to go clubbing that's one of the best times of the year to be going as lots of the closing parties will be on. Don't worry you wont miss out on anything.

There are some great closing parties around that time.

Only downside is the weather is not quite as hot as the rest of the summer, but if you're going there more for the clubbing ratehr than to get a tan, it's perfect :D

The hotel is in San An Bay, which is about a 20min walk/5min cab journey from San Antonio.

It's a bit more than 20 minutes' walk! The buses go from there into San An though (they don't take long), there are ferry taxis every half-hour or so across the bay (which is a lovely mode of transport imho) and there are buses from San An across the island. It's a nice area. You'll have no problem getting taxis, but a car will allow you to explore the island which is recommended. Main clubs are in San An, San Rafael (middle of the island between San An and Ibiza Town), Ibiza Town and Playa d'en Bossa (near Ibiza Town), but there are other smaller clubs dotted around.

thanks guys - getting excited. about the car - do you guys think it is worth getting a car to drive around? if so how much does it cost to rent a car there - and do you need an international license there. i'm coming from the US.

also how long is the ride from ibiza town to this hotel?

Hye dude!

It will be my first time commin over to ibiza in mid july. Here is a link to check out where u might wanna stay. If you are just goin clubbin it may help out a bit.

Me and my mate plan on stayin around figueretas/play den bossa.

Closer to Space and DC10.

Also not to far to Pacha and Amnesia.

---->> Heres the link Click me :D

You are actually quite far away from all the clubs :/

I'm also heading to Ibiza for the first time from 17th - 31st July 2005. Which are the best nights to go to the clubs and what are these foam parties like? Also i've heard it's really expensive in ibiza or is this just coming from old miserable guts. Any help is appreciated as i won't have a clue wot to do wen in Ibiza. For example we're stayin in San Antonio but can we go to clubs in Ibiza and still be able to get back to San Antonio after the club has finished?

If you look at last seasons party calender under "clubbing" you will get an idea of what's on where. You will have no trouble getting from San An - Ibiza - San An, you can choose from buses, disco buses (very late running) and taxis (taxis are good if there are four of you - split the costs and also if you get a receipt from the driver some clubs will reimburse you the cost of the taxi fare on arrival to the club)

Best nights in my opinion are (and this depends on your taste in music)

Monday - Pacha - Release Yourself - Roger Sanchez
Tuesday - Pacha - Underwater - Darren Emerson
Wednesday - usually my day of rest so not too sure....
Thursday - Amnesia - Cream - Tiesto and guests
Friday - El Divino - Defected - Sandy rivera, Junior Jack etc.
Saturday - again my day of rest so .....
Sunday - Space - WLS - cracking day!! buy your tickets on line on this site - works a treat! Remember to take some form of ID with you tho for entrance using this tool.

Entrance fees into clubs are ridiculous - on the door prices are more expensive than buying tickets in advance - you can buy tickets from most bars and shops. (range from 15€ - 50€ depending on the night and the club. Drinks are expensive in clubs 12 - 15€ for a spirit and mixer 5-8€ for a small bottle of water. The |Sunset strip bars are marginally cheaper. Obviously there are really cheap places to drink also, the West End is notoriously cheap for drinks - or buy from the supermarkets and keep in your apartment/room etc. Restaurants range from expensive to cheap as f**k - you can live on McD's/Burger Kings if you're really really want to!!

You can spend a fortune on the Island if you are so inclined/not careful (you can also get through your money extremely quickly if you dont budget sensibly too!). On average I think most people try to budget for between 50-100€ a day depending on if you are hitting a club/restaurant/or just a few drinks that night...... Sometimes those figures go right out the window too!!!!

Hope this helps!

Because the clubs are dotted all round the island there isn't a place to stay to be near them all!

Eden & Es Paradis - San Antonio
Pacha & El Divino - Ibiza town
Privilege & Amnesia - San Rafael
Space (& Bora Bora) - Playa den Bossa

Here's a map to give you some idea:

hi there newbie

make sure you also do non clubbing things, like go out for a quiet meal and enjoy yourself!
We always rent a car and go see the Island. Its heavenly!
Drive around up north to Portinax, and Benirras, go visit the coves and see what the countrysite is like! its gorgeous!

clubbing is great fun in Sept. more international crowd and beautiful peeps!
have fun !

the strip is in San Antonio

if you are staying in San Antonio then you will not have much of a walk to the strip and anyone on the street will point you in the right direction.

I would highly recommend renting a car. Last summer we rented a car for 10 days for 250 Euros. There are so many great places on the island to see with a car. They'll ask to see your license- as long as you have one, you'll be all set.

Ibiza virgin here...
Any language issues for those of us who only speak English? Just trying to get a feel for how challenging getting around will be. And what's with the lack of automatic transmission rental cars in Europe? pffffft.

The vast majority of people you will meet, from waiters to hotel cleaners will understand English to some degree, so you won't have any problems on that score.

getting around could be quite challenging if you don't know how to drive stick! have you tried emailing any companies to see if they have automatic cars? im sure they must do. I found getting around the island reasonably difficult without a car, but thats only cause i didnt know where to go get buses, where to go once i got on a bus etc. Its so much easier with a car, but remember that the drink driving laws are far more stricter in ibiza than elsewhere...

Drink Driving Rules

if Im going out, Id get the disco bus, or make sure i got to a place nice and early, that way i can relax and explore, maybe go for a nice meal before i go to a club. this summer, despite staying in San An, I plan on only being there mornings and mid afternoon the days Im going clubbing.

Thanks, I'll read up on the busses. When I'm out clubbing I don't want to deal with the car, have to worry about blood/alcohol level, etc. Just have a good time and forget about it... :)
