Special Guests The Electric Press

Tune in again this Wednesday morning when another installment of Mongo Bongo Soundsystem hit's the airwaves - don't miss it! After the amazing mix from Sonny Wharton last month (which is now up on the archive), we are graced this month with an exclusive mix from The Electric Press.

Hailing from the home of tearooms and antique shops (Harrogate, Yorkshire), Tom Taylor and Wesley Gill aka The Electric Press is a name that is hot on the lips of just about every clubber, promoter and DJ in the underground dance music world. Signed to Ralph Lawson’s 20:20 Vision Label, the duo have been busy remixing the likes of DJ T, Silicone Soul, Ian Brown, Pharell, Daft Punk, White Stripes and Kelis. Nic Fanciulli counts himself as one of their fans, getting the boys to rework Buick Project’s ‘At The Rave’ on Saved Records and including another of their productions ‘Re: Evaluate’ on his Renaissance mix compilation. Their sound covers all areas of house, from laid back deep hypnotic beats through to acid riff’s with driving basslines. Their residency at Deep, Down and Dirty at The Key in London has given The Press the opportunity to nurture their sound, whilst further gigs at Turnmills and The End in London, The Asylum and Back to Basics in Leeds, River in Maidstone and Radio City in Dublin and future gigs in Serbia, Croatia and Switzerland further illustrate in the words of DJ Magazine that The Press are “the ones to watch for the future”.
