Home : News : LATEST LIVE ACTS AND DJ ADDED TO FESTIVAL LINE UP
The Big Chill is pleased to announce further additions to the line-up of this year's festival.
Heading up the new live acts, Tom Middleton will be presenting the long-awaited Amba Project, assisted by a full orchestra.
French coverists Nouvelle Vague will be performing familiar songs with a latin twist from both their spectacularly popular debut album, as well as their gorgeous new album. Ojos de Brujo's Iberian gypsy-inspired flamenco folk will fire up passions at the festval, while Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators will bring live funk & soul sounds direct from Finland to the stage.
Andrew Cronshaw, Tom Greenwood and David Thomas Broughton add to the superlative folk acts already on the line-up. In addition, Seasick Steve will finally be performing his earthy blues at the festival, after missing last year's through ill health.
Finally, Myspace sensation and London road-blocker Lily Allen will be singing future classics as her career kicks off in specatcular style.
The DJ line-up is now taking shape, covering a vast range of styles.
Bringing universal Balearic vibes to the Malverns will be Ibizan sunset legends Jose Padilla and A Man Called Adam, global chill out stars Pathaan, Chris Coco and Lenny Ibizarre, while rising star and all-round top geezer Ben Mynott will also keep tempertures rising while dropping the tempo. San Francisco's DF Tram returns to hte Big Chill with a slice of lush US ambient.
Worldwide and Big Chill favourite Gilles Peterson, not content with playing a DJ set himself (as previously announced), is bringing a bunch of talented mates to entertain Eastnor's dancers including; Ben Westbeech, Spiritual South, Switch and Mancunian-maestros The Unabombers.
From Rob Da Bank's genre-defying dance tunes, Whistlebump's classy house music, Diesel's driving 4/4, Flevan's party breaks and Phantom Beat's breakbeats, through Funky Jim & Dr Emily's latin beats to Phil Mison's global grooves and Shepdog's Freestyle boogie - dancers all over the site will find it hard to keep still as grooves of every flavour pour from the Club tent and bars.
Folk2Future's unique slant on folk through the years, Daft Pink's dancefloor frolics, Charlie Gillett's authoritative world music - the styles are varied but quality is undeniable.
In addition to the live and DJ acts, a smorgasbord of AV, spoken word, and naughty 'adult' acts have been announced as part of the festival's http://www.bigchill.net/story/1663/mediamixfirstlineupannouncement.html]Mediamix line-up.
This is not the final line-up announcement. Therre's more to come, and remember to check back as more biogs and pics are added to bigchill.net.
