Kent house collective Mongo Bongo return to the Capital for the first time this year as they pair up with Liverpool club kings Chibuku Shake Shake for another infamous shakedown at The Social Bar on Friday 4th February.
Last years events soon became one of London’s most sought after parties, with queues to get in extending round the block. Fronted by Mongo Bongo resident Anil Chawla and Wandy - Chibuku’s own floor filler… this monthly DJ Vs Battle is everything you could possibly wish for. There’s a mish-mash of beats & b-lines, ranging from all things soulful and funky to a more electro, jackin’ house soundtrack late on. The crowd is cooler than a Tiefschwarz remix and it’s totally FREE to get in!!
As the countdown continues to Mongo Bongo’s 2nd Birthday in March, the line-up for February’s Social affair is a great appetiser as Anil & Wandy are joined by two of Manchester’s hottest new talents, Alex McCulloch & Gareth Lloyd. Both DJs are residents for Planet Sabbatical (held at the legendary Tribal Sessions) and Alex is also one half of the hot Sha Funkers production outfit. Look out for their re-working of David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ as well as 'Electric Acid EP', forthcoming on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records imprint.
