money cards

does anyone have any info on these prepaid money cards,i think the post office do them.You can load them up on line ect with euros or dollars.My son (who is 21 going on 12)is going to oz next month for 4 weeks.I am concerned about his ability to budget and thought these cards may be the answer.Anybody ????
 
If your son has managed to save enough money at age 21 to go away to Australia for four weeks then surely he can't be that bad at managing his money?
 
well im embarrased:oops:he got a loan for his fare,plus £500 spending.HE gets paid one more time before he goes.Obviously i will help all i can,i suppose i treat him like a baby but hey he is my baby.really just wanted to know if these cards are a safe economical way :?:
