They have lost everything... apparently that includes their humanity.

What you two mean?

Do you mean those explosions are bombs? Cos for what I've read it supposed to be gas problems.

Hmmm :?
I'm thinking these Americans have watched too many disaster movies and are acting like its the end of the world and nothing matters anymore, everyone for himself.

Surely people should be pulling together as a community not going around killing each other :?
The vast majority of people are. I read an article in the Washington Post were they detailed how people all over the region are helping - sheltering people, providing food and clothing, etc.

In the Superdome you had the poorest of the poor - a mixed social bag of the disadvantaged and the ne'er-do-wells. Add to that the fact that the place has become unliveable and that the authorities can't get enough busses there fast enough to remove everyone, and you've got chaos.

Texas is doing quite a bit to help relief efforts. The Astrodome in Houston is expected to shelter about 20,000 people. I belive they have close to 8,000 at the moment. The Dallas area has already received several thousand (now homeless) people. We expect up to 23,000 in the Dallas area within the next week. Communities ARE pulling together.
