La Troya Leaving Amnesia This Summer????

There were rumors about that last year as well, but the place where it was supposedly moving (Penelope) looks like it's not even going to open this year.

It's not exactly official but Alfredo Fiorito told me last night La Troya will NOT be at Amnesia this summer.

He heard from the head PR at La Troya.

Is there a reason for this? Personally this p*sses me off slightly as I was looking forward to going to a variety of clubs but now with Penelope no longer hosting Gorgeous and Amnesia apparently not hosting La Troya I'll be spending almost all my time at Space -- I have no problem with Space but variety is the spice of life! I love Amnesia but none of the other nights interest me.

Why move all the best parties to Space, I mean ok it is the best club on the island, but leave something for the other clubs, we are already obliged to visit it for Sunday @ Space, Carl Cox, Matinee, whats wrong with leaving La Troya for Amnesia, besides its a much cooler place with a bigger Terrace and whole other Image.
While Space is kind of a more darker place...

I agree (as I've said here before). I wonder whether Amnesia will host something similar in its place? I love La Troya but I do want to avoid going to Space too many times in one week (i'm already going there for Matinee, Fake, Carry On, Gorgeous). Amnesia is a fab venue but the only night there that appeals to me and my friends is La Troya so I'm hoping (perhaps in vain) that something similar will be hosted at Amnesia on Wednesday nights (much as Home now replaces Manumission).

I'm also not a fan of staying in the same venue for 12 hours...I've done it before and I get bored. If I'm going to club for 12 - 20 hours I need a change of venue every 7 or 8 hours. Space risks this problem with having La Troya and Fake back-to-back (although I suppose the terrace could be considered another club).

yep , space will be the place for La-troya 2006.

I'm not so sad like you all , cuz i'm sure that LA troya will be the same LA troya.
we'll wait and see..

Space's line-up this years is absolutely astonishing

Amnesia's by contrast is currently floundering
Exactly. Which is sad because the terrace room in Amnesia is one of my favorite venues.

Good thing I'll be there for the Amnesia opening party, which has some of the La Troya regulars playing. Other than that, I'm not sure I'd make it to Amnesia at all.

I like Space and all but, as noted above, you want a bit of variety and there's already top events in Pacha & Space.

so..La troya @ Space
and what about the espuma party@ amnesia, it's used to be on wednesday...and now???

why all these changements???

BOOOO! HISSSSSS! A major bad idea in my (HUMBLE)/(EXPERT) opinion. I agree with Morbyd (not the first time that has happened). The terrace at Amnesia is the perfect venue for La Troya - can't imagine it anywhere at Space. Especially the Brazilian Party - Space doesn't have the right feel for such an event. Wonder what sort of money was involved to get them to move. La Troya could consistently fill the pricey VIP mezzanine at Amnesia increasing the event's revenues. Space has no such place - will they now consider one??? Not sure I will go now.

how would you describe the theme for la troya?

music wise, crowd wise etc?

Historically a gay night, now much more mixed, atracts a good mix of Europeans. Music is pretty much funky house by numbers with a few classics thrown in the bag, so don't go expecting any groundbreaking music but it will keep you dancing all night.
