i am getting a belly!!!

the jelly belly aint showing any signs of disappearing!! the belt notch I was using approx 2 mths ago seems an impossibilty.

to be fair though I have done nothing but eat all weekend, didnt go the gym, went last night but before that, thursday was last time I went, I probably havent been going as much as I used to which probably explains my current plight :(

I currently do 15 mins cv (cross trainer) and then a resistance workout. My arms, chest, legs, shouldersetc are all fine.

Should i be doing more cv?? maybe 20 mins cross trainer then 10 mins rowing or sommat, then just blast my abs??

do it 4 times a week for about a month?? :?

you can blast your abs as much as you want jj, but if there is a layer of fat covering them then you won't see them.

only way is to lower your body fat by doing more cardio at high intensity.

change yr eating habits!

make your lunch the main meal and have a lighter evening meal.

and cut out the pies!

CV isn't much good (other than as a warm up) unless you're doing 20-30 minutes per session.

Despite the collosal amount of wine we get through, i'm managing to retain a 32inch waistline. I think the Stir Fry's help a lot.

;)

A regular & disciplined Astanga yoga practice with a decent teacher will ensure the weight falls off in no time. Forget Cardio!

so 20 mins cross trainer, followed by a 10 min row, then my nornal workout...would do the trick?? :?

Go and have a first lesson just to try it.
I have regular sessions of dinamic ioga and I noticed the effects from session 1 ;)

Definately not. 8O

Gym yoga classes are sh*te...for starters you'll be doing a really relaxing form - there are so many types of yoga out there.
Also, gym types tend to be fond of pushing themselves too far which makes for a really ego driven class which is not nice.

You need a specialised Mysore style Astanga teacher - there will be one somewhere if you search hard enough.

It's supposed to be easy to find cheap ioga sessions and usually you get a first session for free. Go and try it and then decide it

how about going swimming once/twice a week on top of your gym routine?

Yeah, but i prefer to do CV on it's own so you can put maximum effort in.

Then i generally do weights on the other nights.

Works well so your muscle groups get plenty of rest.

thanks for your help guys (including Robder ;) )

think the most practical solution is to up the ante on the old cardio, to be fair I have probably been operating within the comfort zone lately :(

we shall see

will defo give the yoga a try though!! ;)

All of you have the wrong attitude.

You should do what I do: embrace the belly!
LOVE THE BELLY, BECAUSE THE BELLY LOVES YOU!

Whenever I'm enjoying a cold beer and a hot plate of spicy, greasy food, I give the old belly a rub afterwards. You've got to feed the belly to keep him happy. 8)

Do......

15mins cross trainer
15 mins treadmill
15 mins bike
15 mins rower

You wont get as bored perhaps as doing a long single discipline cardio exercise, your legs will get worked out from them all and your biceps and back (mostly, shoulders too) will get worked out from the rower - set it at the Steve Redgrave setting for maximum effect.
Get a walkman/ MP3 player and soon an hour will seem like no time at all.
oh and although ab work wont make a 6 pack come overnight, even if you have got a decent bit of bodyfat over them, it does pull them in tighter.
