I say Ipod - my very first mp3 player was a creative and it could only hold 20 tracks max but still cost £100 8O

I really do not no why I am telling every one this but... they are giving away free ipods with mobile phones

I got the same dilema :? Wanting a MP3 for the gym and torn between ipod nano or creative zen.

Neither, you want the iRiver H10, which is still regarded the best on the market.

I have one which i use mainly in the gym. It comes with a silicone case with a belt clip.

The sound on this is miles better than an ipod (ipod doesn't have SRS WOW for one), also has detachable battery which is a must in my book. Not as many accessories as iPod but depends what you want them for. A lot of the iPod accessories work with any player anyhow. Oh yeah and this player works as a portable drive so no iTunes etc needed. Just drag and drop.

Trust me, this machine is brilliant and Rockbox is now available for it too.

It's the only thread drew replies to anymore 8O but we know he's watching 8O

I say iPod - they're top notch. A few problems but fewer than any other mp3 player.

I have an ipod but disappointed with battery life and dodgy freezing moments :? !

I would look at the iRiver when buying again or look into the microsoft zune when it hits the market 8)

I can only comment on Ipod and as I'm computer illiterate I find it extremely easy to use. I plug in a cord, up pops itunes, wack the cd in and push upload - that is all it takes

I'd imagine as it is ipod you will also have more options for accessories etc which is why I choose it

My only problem is I have loads of GU albums, and instead of showing the dj names I have about 10 cd's called GLOBAL UNDERGROUND - :)

I talk about ipod cos it's the one I know and cos Pep would ask for the divorce if I recommend something it's not macintosh

I would normally never consider buying Apple anything (long story told many times before on here) however, having an Apple would mean that I could get this (it can actually use any portable harddrive as well as other media but obv the Ipod looks best!). Due in Jan 07 for about £429.

Their first effort was gash but this looks alright.

8O :?

Yeah Sil, i know how the board works thanks. Just seemed a bit strange for someone to be monitoring my every move 8O For Zarb's information, i may log on and come back to it now and then between busy moments. If you think i have nothing better to do than sit sifting through Spotlight nonsense then you're sadly mistaken.

Anyhow back on subject Coley - i'd defo go iPod over the creative. I was looking at the creative before deciding on a mCody player for wifey but although the specs seem good, they seemed a little brittle and felt cheaply made.

If you're looking for mainly gym use - go for a flash based player which take any amount of hammer in the gym. Most manufacturers do a flash player but only have up to 2gig storage space - still enough space for 10-20 albums however. It's ok having stupidly large hard drives which will store your entire music collection, but you tend to just play your favourites and not bother with the rest. All this does is slow down it's operation down when browsing.

If you're still unsure - give the guys at advancedmp3players.co.uk a ring - they are very helpful and will steer you in the right direction.

Ive had both and i can state that the Creative Zen is far superior to the iPod,i got rid of my iPod after 3 months it was awful, but 2 years later ive still have my Zen and have had little or no trouble with it.;)
