Has anyone got any good interview tips? I dont really suffer with nerves when it comes to things like this, but I tend to clam up a bit when trying to think of clever things to ask!
breathe in breathe out! and concentrate, dont avoid eye contact and make sure your handshake is firm. drinks lots of fluids and make sure you smile every now and then, without seeming too overly enthusiastic!
the main thing is to remain calm, preparation for any interview is the key to success. Make sure you know a little about the company and prepare for the obvious questions, like tell us a little about your career, why do youwant this job. And be prepared for someone to ask what is your strengths and weaknesses, but make sure your weaknesses turn into a strength.
as mentioned make sure you dont shy away from all those unpleasant questions there might be.... answer calmly and if they itterogate you, take it with a brief smile and make sure you sont seem too self involved
Be yourself, employers want people that they can get along with and trust to get on with a job rather than boffins who keep there head down engrsossed on message boards
Bec make sure you've got a couple of questions to wheel out at the end when they ask you if there's anything you'd like to ask them, shows you've got an interest in the company.
Good luck, fingers xd for a double celebration at Felix
visit the website of the company so you know what they do, find their keyplayers and see what they do ... at the time of the interview be calm and be sure you can talk for about 5 minutes about each item on your CV. I always feel that people make a better impression when they have something to say instead of being silence and you have to drag everything from them.
Preparation is the key. Research the company because you can usually expect the "So what you know about us?" question to arise.
Body language is key... smiling is a must, if there is more than one person interviewing you, then make sure you make eye contact with both people when speaking. Good posture but not too stiff now...use your hands in expressing certain view points but not flapping them around!!
Always make sure you ask them some questions at the end because remember they need you just as much as you need them... key qu's I usually go for are...
How did the position come about? expansion? someone leaving?
How can you see this role developing in say 3 years time?
Is there any training or courses supported by the company?
What can I expect in a typical working day?
& my personal favourite question which always brings a wry smile to their faces is...
"So what have you found the most rewarding aspect working for .... ...."
good question, I remember someone asking me that when i interviewed them for a job and god did i not know what to say, particularly as my boss was also on the interview panel
