Hi,

Does anyone know of any decent live music or indie bars in Ibiza?

We are all going out on 17th June and are into our indie (Oasis, Stone Roses, Kings of Leon etc) and just wondering if anywhere plays that sort of stuff?

Dont get us wrong we up for a mash up in a club later on but ideally start the night in a bar that plays our sort of music :)

Cheers,

Craig

There is a Rock Bar in the West End, San An. Or at least there was, called Groud Zero. Just keeps playing Summer of ' 69 looped though.

Live music can be found in the Irish bars in the bay (by Bucaneros) and PDB. First time I went to the one in the bay they had a good Irish band, last year there were a couple of guys doing covers (U2, sterophonic type stuff), not so good but Ok for something different (just don't go too often or you hear all the same jokes and same tunes again  ).

Just to put the record straight as I can see exactly what you are after.

You'll find that you will get all the above mentioned bands (including Oasis if you buy the DJ a drink) in Ground Zero (San Antonio). The dinks are cheap and the staff friendly.

Have a good time, and I may even see you in there at some point.

Yer i will back u up!!! Get urself over to GZ, and i have NEVER heard summer of 69 played in there!!!! Super Polack, dunno what ur on about here! :spank:

I'm the Dj at GZ and have been for 6 years and i can honestly say that the chap above saying we play "Summer of 69" on a loop must have a hearing problem. We have two rooms, one for indie, one for those who like the heavier stuff, so at any time in the night you can get anything from Oasis to Slipknot. Come in and say hello as i feel i now have to prove this idiot is talking out of his pants.

I popped in2 a ground zero a coupla times when i visited the west end last year. Its no bad and offer the alternative. The dj (if that is u Dec), why u have a problem with Oasis?
I never heard Summer of 69 but did hear nearly the whole Killers album.

And Dec the Dj....dont talk over every ****in song mate.

I love that bar. I went to Ibiza last year with my girlfriends and we spent most of our holiday in Ground Zero. I think i heard summer of 69 once but the dj gave us a warning that the music was going to be cheesy for a couple of songs!! we really had a fantastic time, the staff are cool and made us feel welcome ( which is more than i can say for most of the other bars in san antonio!)
try it you might LOVE it.

Oh. and while you are there try one of the cocktails - its green and comes in a pint glass called a weedkiller. I had one and got instant double vision :D

So why have you people not been on OUR forum? Sort it out. Don't think i'm allowed to put the address on here, but put "Ground Zero Ibiza forum" into a search engine and you should find it.

gz

ground zero, is cool bar , brill to get you in the mood ,with excellant selection of rock and indie tunes!!!!anyway what is wrong with 69:lol:

Chill Winston ! Summer of 69 ' was just an example of the type of music. I'm not being that negative on the place, I go there quite alot for early drinks and a bit of a rest from heavy music. It's a nice place, friendly atmosphere, good drinks, bar just when I went from day to day alot of the music was the same. But I think they play requests so you gotta play what people want and that may not be to everyones tastes eh? Probably the only place in West End I found to get away from chavs and attitude too. So chill alternatives chill !

Thanks for all the replies and will be taking a trip to Ground Zero as soon as we arrive in San Antonio and no doubt spend lots of time and money in there lol 8)

Looking forward to it and Dec will check out your forum now.

Nice one,

Craig
