International Music Summit (IMS), the leading platform for industry, culture and education in electronic music, has postponed IMS Ibiza 2021 and announced the summit will return in 2022 for its 13th edition. The event will reunite thousands of global electronic music industry professionals after a two year hiatus, curating a programme of diverse discussions that are set to help us negotiate the post-COVID world.

IMS Co-Founder Ben Turner says: “As the majority of the world is still in the grip of the pandemic, it feels irresponsible to encourage our community to gather together until it is safer to do so. Therefore, the next IMS Ibiza event will now be 27th April - 1st May 2022, a time which feels very realistic for a huge coming together of our industry. IMS was created at a time of crisis for electronic music, we have galvanized the genre before, and we remain committed to supporting the industry that we love. The next edition of IMS Ibiza will mark a huge reset for the industry, for the world, and for IMS.”

With the return of the summit in 2022, delegates will be able to experience a rebooted and refreshed summit experience hosted at new luxurious venue Destino Pacha Resort, privatised exclusively for IMS, featuring:

  • Three days of the world’s leading thinkers and creatives discussing key values and issues.
  • Leading companies showcasing the latest in innovation at a new Technology Trade Fair.
  • IMS College Education Zone, including workshops and masterclasses, to inspire the next generation.
  • ARETÉ wellness platform open to all delegates at no cost, courtesy of Pioneer DJ.
  • More networking opportunities including 1-1 speed networking with promoters, agents & bookers.
  • Access to Ibiza club openings & satellite events across the island.
  • IMS Dalt Vila closing celebration at the 2,500 year old UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • SheSaidSo hosted safer space featuring their own curated content series.

Super early bird Delegate badges and hotel packages for the 2022 edition of IMS Ibiza will be available soon.

International Music Summit (IMS Ibiza Summit), the leading platform for industry, culture and education in electronic music, returns for its thirteenth edition in April 2022 following a two-year hiatus. One of the first major global industry gatherings to take place since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the summit will reunite the entire ecosystem of the genre for three-days of purposeful conversation, connection and celebration.

Co-presented by BBC Radio 1 broadcasters Pete Tong MBE and Jaguar, the summit will continue its pledge to highlight and focus on its core values to an industry emerging and re-building following the devastating impact of the global pandemic.

Adopting a no-panel policy for the first time in the history of the summit, IMS Ibiza Summit 2022 will curate a series of keynotes, lectures, conversations, workshops and sessions with industry thought-leaders who will bring their extensive knowledge and experience to analyse and identify best practice that the electronic music industry can adopt, rooted in the core values of IMS; sustainability, climate action, equality, innovation, collaboration, transparency, education, mental health and wellbeing. A sensitively designed program will be presented to thousands of delegates from over fifty countries, built to inspire and serve as a catalyst for positive change across the industry, from the boardroom to the dancefloor.

Highlights of the summit include; a carefully crafted three-day content agenda; speed networking and official summit networking events; the IMS Legends Award dinner honoring an icon of the scene; free access to all delegates to the IMS wellness platform The Art of ARETÉ villa; daily yoga and breathwork; The IMS College x Point Blank Education Hub featuring workshops and masterclasses; the shesaid.so Safer Space presenting their own curated content and offering a creche facility to all delegates; the Bye Bye Plastic & EarthPercent Eco Lounge showcasing the latest in Green innovations; entry to opening parties and events across the island; the legendary IMS Dalt Vila seven-hour closing celebration in Ibiza Old Town - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Recognising the need to mitigate the environmental impact of the summit, a 5% donation will be added to the price of all delegate badges, each donation will be match funded by IMS and used to fund carbon removal initiatives, working in partnership with A Greener Festival. This is one step in a series of actions that will be implemented at the summit to ensure best practice in core summit values is not only highlighted, but also acted upon.

Moving a month earlier in the calendar to the end of April, IMS Ibiza Summit 2022 will be the catalyst for an island vibrant with visitors earlier than ever before as it unveils a series of new music and travel experiences created with an eclectic mix of the world’s biggest artists and brands. The relaunched IMS Ibiza Summit will see 20,000 music lovers and fans from across the globe joining delegates in enjoying the best of Ibizan hospitality, gastronomy, nightlife and culture at unmissable, immersive experiences hosted at some of Ibiza’s most iconic locations and globally renowned clubs.

IMS co-founder Ben Turner states: “It is time for change, so we start here. The temporary switch-on was a strong indication that many of our industry had forgotten the many values discussed and debated during the lockdown, so expect IMS Ibiza Summit to take the conversation forwards again as we go In Pursuit of Purpose. We’re removing the multi-person panels to allow bigger amplification of thinking from less dominant but equally as inspiring individuals - you will not hear the ‘panel’ word at IMS Ibiza Summit 2022! We can’t wait to help open the Ibiza season alongside our fellow club owners and operators on the island.”

IMS Ibiza Summit’s new co-host Jaguar says: “Co-hosting IMS Ibiza Summit 2022 with the legend Pete Tong is truly a dream come true. I’ve learnt so much from attending the summit over the years and I feel so strongly about bringing through the next wave of electronic artists and opening doors for my generation. I’m excited to head up forward-thinking conversations and inspire and get to know new artists.”

Badges to the summit are available to purchase now via the IMS website via exclusive ticketing partner Skiddle. Early Bird Delegate badges are priced at €295, badge prices will increase in price after two weeks and on the first of each month thereafter. Student badges are once again priced at €99 with Under 27 badges priced at €150, with all badge tiers available on four month payment plans. A new Eco badge priced at €150 is also available for any delegates travelling to Ibiza using sustainable travel (train & ferry). Destino 3 and 4 night hotel packages are also available.

IMS DALT VILA
A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE
Presented by
Pioneer DJ & Skiddle

FRIDAY 29 APRIL

International Music Summit (IMS) today announces the return of their highly anticipated IMS Dalt Vila event in Ibiza Old Town, revealing a colossal and diverse line-up of electronic talent that will perform at the 2,500-year-old former fort and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Presented in partnership with Pioneer DJ and Skiddle, the event not only represents the closing festivities of the 13th edition of the three-day summit and flagship event of IMS Ibiza Summit 2022 but also signals the start of the Ibiza summer season and the much-welcomed return of music events to the island.

A diverse line-up of both established names and rising artists will share the stage for this seven-hour unmissable event, with unique b2b and headline sets framed with incredible production against the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea and the historic Catedral de Eivissa.

A bastion of underground house music on the island of Ibiza, Hot Creations icon and Amnesia resident with his Paradise party concept, Jamie Jones, will take to the stage b2b with admired Chicago selector, producer, and broadcaster The Blessed Madonna in the headline slot.

Adding to the b2b line-up are Joy Orbison and Overmono (DJ), two of electronic music’s most dominant and ground-breaking production outfits, each rooted in rave revivalism and possessing a rare dynamic to traverse many genres from techno to 2-step and jungle. As day turns into night, their performance will soundtrack an idyllic Ibiza sunset.

Also performing b2b will be UK duo Prospa and IMS Ibiza Summit co-host and BBC Radio One broadcaster Jaguar, joining them on the line-up are two leading breakout artists of their generation with distinct sounds, DJ and Producer Patrick Topping, best known for shaping an energetic style around his now global TRICK platform and with a soon to be announced Ibiza residency and TSHA, rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting talents coming out of the UK with her releases on Ninja Tune and her Jackfruit Radio series for Apple 1. Finishing up the line-up is as Glasgow’s finest export and Sub Club resident LaLa and PRYDA associated producer and vocalist Artche.

This spectacular line-up proudly celebrates the return of Ibiza as the undisputed global mecca of clubbing and electronic music, the opening of the summer season on the island and the closing of IMS Ibiza Summit 2022 in one of the most extraordinary locations in the world.

IMS is partnering with Pollen to expand IMS Dalt Vila into a two day celebration of electronic music. On Saturday 30th April, one of the biggest house music brands in the world, Defected Records, will take over historic Dalt Vila as part of the Defected Ibiza four day group travel event.

HOUSE MUSIC ALL LIFE LONG

THE IMS LEGENDS AWARD 2022 HONOURS
SIMON DUNMORE
CREATOR OF ICONIC UK HOUSE LABEL
DEFECTED RECORDS

PETE TONG TO HOST EXCLUSIVE
INDUSTRY AWARD DINNER AT IMS IBIZA SUMMIT
PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH YOUTUBE

International Music Summit (IMS) recognise and pay tribute to Simon Dunmore, a truly inimitable electronic music pioneer who over the last three decades has helped shape British dance music history and has created a brand that has cemented itself into international electronic music culture. Simon will be honoured during IMS Ibiza Summit at a celebratory dinner presented in partnership with YouTube, hosted by IMS co-founder and BBC Radio 1 broadcaster Pete Tong.

As well as being the founder and head of Defected Records, arguably one of the best known independent electronic music labels of the last twenty years, Simon is also an unparalleled A&R, tastemaker, promoter and world class DJ; fiercely business-minded yet ultimately passionate about and driven by the music, propelling the growth of the electronic music industry by constantly evolving and reinventing the business rule book.

With an unquestionable contribution to dance music, Simon will join a prestigious list of previous recipients of this special accolade which include: Underworld, Nile Rodgers, Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong, Sven Väth, Carl Cox, Space Ibiza founder Pepe Roselló, Mambo Ibiza founder Javier Anadon and Ricardo Urgell founder of Pacha Ibiza and the worldwide Pacha Group.

A previous winner of the Pioneer DJ ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award at the 2012 edition of IMS Ibiza, and with a philosophy of ‘House Music All Life Long’, Simon Dunmore is a vital ambassador of the scene, constantly looking ahead to predict and counteract the challenges that our industry often produces. Living and breathing House music, through Defected Records Simon has developed and cultivated some of the most standout electronic artists of our time, from Sandy Rivera, Bob Sinclar and Martin Solveig to Tensnake, MK, Noir and of course the ubiquitous Grammy nominated Camelphat. Focused on a distinct musical identity rather than constantly genre jumping in search of a quick hit, since 1999 Defected Records and sister labels DFTD and Classic have been a constant in the scene, releasing some of the standout House tunes of our generation that continue to be played in heavy rotation at clubs across the world.

In recent years Simon has introduced a new club and label brand to the mix, the mighty Glitterbox, an Ibiza phenomenon and a celebration of diversity and disco. In addition to this is the long standing and hugely popular Defected In The House Ibiza residency, the Defected Croatia festival and Defected London FSTVL, launched in 2019.

Simon Dunmore comments:
“To quote a line from Talking Heads 'Once In A Lifetime’… "you may ask yourself, how did I get here?”
The answer is, there are so many factors; the support, guidance and mentorship of all the amazing and talented people that have helped me on my journey. Being stupidly stubborn in my love of House music, Ibiza and dance culture. Right place, right time. The dedication and relentless graft of my team at Defected Records. Luck when it was most needed. Being blessed with an incredibly supportive and loving family. It’s never lost on me how privileged I am that my passion happens to be my vocation and like many I know I suffer frequent attacks of imposter syndrome. It’s an insecurity I channel as a driving force. Ultimately, I am humbled for my contribution to be recognised in this way by my peers. I take my inspiration from them all.
The most exciting thing though, is what lies ahead.”

IMS Partner Ben Turner comments:
“Simon Dunmore’s rise to success is one of dance music’s great success stories. Defected has become one of the world’s most trusted independent labels and now event brands, a stamp of authority and quality for pure house music. Dunmore is a journeyman who has guided this brand like he was a Premiership Football Manager or Chairman, with the added twist he’s also the ace player with his legendary DJ sets. Dunmore’s undivided devotion to authentic house music is worthy of this award, his consistent support of booking the legends that inspired him 30 years ago around the world is today exemplary. In addition, Simon is one of the nicest industry figures we have around, the IMS partners are proud to host this dinner in his name.”

Head of YouTube Music EMA, Dan Chalmers comments:
“Simon’s unwavering passion, integrity and loyalty has been instrumental in building a global community around house music that will surely have a lasting impact in the industry as a whole. We’re proud to have recently partnered with Simon for the Defected festival and now to be able to honour him in the Legends Dinner. Our collaboration with IMS is another step to bring electronic music and technology even closer and a testament to our commitment with some of the most innovative and critical parts of the music business.”

The IMS Legends Dinner honouring this music industry icon will take place on Wednesday 27 April, featuring surprise live performances, entertainment and a charity auction. Limited tickets are available to purchase now from the IMS website, entry to this event is included with IMS Ibiza All Access badges.
