International Music Summit (IMS), the premier platform for business, culture and education in global electronic music returns to Ibiza in 2020 for its thirteenth edition, uniting the entire ecosystem of the genre from over fifty countries across three days of conversation, connection and celebration. Since its inception, IMS has pledged to identify areas in which positive transformation can occur, encouraging debate and proactively working towards change, with a continued focus on sustainability, wellness & self-care, diversity and equality in electronic music.

The beginning of a new decade will witness a transformed summit located at a new luxurious venue, Destino Pacha Resort owned by the Pacha Group. For the first time in IMS history the summit will privatise the entire resort for attending delegates to create an intimate, immersive setting for networking and presenting the summit agenda. Located at the top of a cliff in the exclusive Cap Martinet area of the island, the premium resort overlooks the Mediterranean Sea with stunning views to Formentera and is conveniently located for Ibiza Town and the airport. IMS is again hosted with the team from SheSaid. So, who are also the summit’s partner in Diversity & Inclusion.

In 2020 IMS will offer the ARETÉ experience to all summit guests by introducing and integrating the ARETÉ Villa on site at Destino Pacha Resort. The villa will offer guests a moment of solitude accompanied by calming and restorative psychoacoustic soundscapes. Grab a complimentary juice or a free wellness consultation with one of the expert resident practitioners, participate in group breathwork or yoga workshops, and even book a massage or acupuncture treatment.

IMS co-founder Ben Turner states: “Upon the thought of entering a new decade with IMS, we had to ask ourselves, ‘What is our purpose?’ In doing so, we questioned our whole existence, our home, our vision, it’s a moment to Reset & Refocus. IMS remains committed to providing a platform for debate that can inspire change, and by moving to Destino Pacha Resort, we hope we’ve finally found a location exclusively for our delegates to immerse and connect in an inspirational setting. If you are a person, an artist, a company, or in fact our entire genre, we all need to be true to ourselves and Find our Purpose. That is what the all-new IMS is about. We’ve also tried to make it as affordable and appealing to the next generation as possible by making this venue move, acknowledging that Ibiza is never a cheap experience. Hope you will join us.”

During IMS Week delegates will experience a carefully curated three-day summit of inspiring keynotes and discussions, speed dating business opportunities, industry networking sessions, entry to many Ibiza opening parties, the IMS Legends Award dinner, access to IMS wellness platform ARETÉ, daily yoga, breath work and the annual legendary IMS Dalt Vila celebration in Ibiza Old Town in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

International Music Summit (IMS), the leading voice for business, culture and education in electronic music, will unite the most influential global industry figures at the 13th edition of the summit, across three days of conversation, connection and celebration. Continuing to lead the direction for positive change in the industry, IMS Ibiza will place artists, visionary thinkers and industry leaders at the centre of powerful discussions designed to make meaningful difference and be a catalyst for change.

At the forefront of the debate will be iconic electronic musician, producer, visual artist, academic and leading pioneer in environmental activism Brian Eno, who will open IMS Ibiza with a keynote interview with IMS partner and legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong. He will set the scene on the environmental crisis the world is facing and as a founding trustee of EarthPercent will introduce the project, before other initiatives will be shared by other industry figures.

This vital and timely keynote interview will take place via video call to avoid unnecessary air travel and is one part of a dedicated focus at IMS Ibiza on the climate emergency. It will follow into other presentations and initiatives from within the industry, examining the wider debate around the issue and detailing what action must urgently be taken. IMS will donate the cost of Eno’s flight to EarthPercent and will carbon offset all air travel associated with producing the 2020 event.

EarthPercent exists to encourage artists and music companies to commit a small percentage of their revenue to the best organisations addressing the climate emergency. As an industry with huge cultural influence we should be taking a leading position in being conscientious and pro-active in supporting the best organisations taking on the challenges of climate change. The aim of EarthPercent is to generate significant income via a rolling and continual mechanism, establishing a highly effective way for the music industry to be part of a solution.

Brian Eno was a founder member of Roxy Music. As well as a discography of highly influential solo albums, Brian has worked with some of the most creative artists of our time including works with Talking Heads, U2 and Coldplay. His collaborations deeply interweave pop culture, working with the likes of David Bowie, David Byrne, Grace Jones, Karl Hyde and James Blake as well as many others. He coined the term "ambient music", and recorded the album "Ambient 1: Music for Airports", considered to be the first ambient recording ever.
