My Granny has just read in her paper that Ibiza is a "drug island". Now bless her heart my Granny is very naive when it comes to these things, and knows I go there every year (she has about 15 postcards on her mantlepiece). Now she's really worried about me 8O and has voiced her concerns to my mum. What can I tell her to put her mind at rest? 8O

Seriously, why don't you print info about all that things you never do in Ibiza but that surely exist and show her that there's family ressorts and lots of things to do ? ;)

My mum reads stuff like that all the time (they're Daily Express and Mail readers :roll: :lol: ) so godknows what she thinks of us :lol: I just show her the approx 2 'normal' photos from our hols so she thinks it's all about beaches and nice restaurants :lol:

It must have been in the Mail then coz that's what my Granny reads. Bless her she's always pictured me having nice meals and visiting nice beaches when I go to Ibiza. I bet now she's worrying I'm getting involved in drug-fuelled orgies everytime I go there now! (Not far off the truth 8O :lol: )

:lol: Well I did try and give you and Jon the sofa bed in our apartment, it was you 2 who were adamant that you wanted to get into bed with us 8O :lol:

Tell her there's no upper age limit on entrance to Pacha and it's not too late for her to give it a go....:lol:

Or....tell her you are far too grown up and sensible for that kind of thing.

That's the key... show the folks your photos from the beach, town and the like. Add in some Dalt Vila pictures and tell them there's some history. As soon as you mention Phoenecians, they'll forget about all that "drug island" nonsense :lol:
 
Simple answer really, why don't you just admit your reacreational tendancies to your folks, I know its easier said than done but I did it a long long time ago after numerous wide eyed home comings and many many questions.

It wasn't the nicest experience and it took a few weeks of shock on there part but they didn't neglet me in anyway shape or form, I was and still am holding down a good career and they could see I was having fun, sure they worried but they knew that I was a sensible cos they brought me up!!

I do get the old 'why are you going back to the island again', whenever I go ans the 'there are other places to go' but at the end of the day they know thats what I enjoy so they accept that.

Honesty is the best policy.

Oh it's not my parents or brother I worry about. Im sure they know full well what goes on at clubs and in Ibiza!! It's my sweet little old Granny that I'm worried about, she's 85 and has lived her whole life in a little village cocooned against the evilness of the real world! I don't want her thinking I'm indulging in illicit substances! 8O
I guess I'll just have to feign horror and show her lots of pics of restaurants etc when asked :lol:

poor becks! I reckon just ignore it, make some stuff up like 'oh, apparently london is the drugs capital of the world!' and try and convince her that ibiza isn't the same/you live in london and you're not a druggie so surely she couldn't stereotype you as one..
