Ibiza virgin tentative schedule - some questions

I'm trying to get this worked out so I'll have a 2 week Spain tour with a group that includes a few days in Ibiza, but before the trip I'll also have a few days in Ibiza to myself to catch some big parties.

Arranging the flight is a pain right now. The earliest I can get into Madrid is 9:40 AM and then the only reasonably priced flight I can find from there to Ibiza leaves at 11:30 AM. (the next one is 12:30AM that night!) I'm very hesitant to book that 11:30 flight. If my flight from the States to Madrid is delayed anywhere, I'll miss it.

Anyway, the goal is to be in Ibiza and ready to party by the night of June 18th. Tentative schedule:

18th - Es Paradis water party -- If I arrive that afternoon on Ibiza, will I still be able to get tickets?
19th - We Love Space Opening party -- What does AM + PM mean on the calendar?
20th - Cocoon opening party at Amnesia
21st - Defected opening party at Pacha

As for where to stay, I'm not really sure. There's an Arsena hotel (sp?) in San Antonio that looks alright... 3 stars, on the beach, A/C rooms. Ibiza town is closer to 3 of the above clubs though. How easy is it to catch shuttles to the clubs and back to San Antonio at the end of the night?

Leave for Madrid and my tour of Spain. Return to Ibiza with the group on June 27th.

27th - Release Yourself at Pacha
28th - Extreme Euphoria vs. Tidy at Es Paradis
29th - Not sure. In Bed With Space opens, but not sure what time the AM indicates. Subliminal and La Troya also happening. Or drop by one of the big clubs I've missed.
30th - Cream at Amnesia

Any tickets I can buy ahead of time, I probably will.

I'm a huge house/trance fan, mainly the more energetic styles. I have zero interest in '70s and '80s retro nights. Do all of the events above feature techno/electronic music?

YES

What does AM + PM mean on the calendar?

PM its a party that starts @ Night time 8pm or what so ever..
AM its an after Party.. Ex; Carry On

very easy... im sure ull find ur way there regarding this.. just ask around ;)

YES..

then make sure u dont miss Cream @ Amnesia.. once for PVD, and another for Tiesto

hope u have a blast ...

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize any of the events started earlier than about midnight.

I think I've figured out all the flights and hotels I'll need for the 18 day trip. I've priced everything. Now I just have to be willing to click "book it" while I'm looking at that high cost for my vacation. Flights in June are a lot more than when I usually travel in May!

Hi!

Welcome :D

You don't need to worry about advance tickets for anything, you'll get better prices when you get there. Also, stya clear of mutli-pass tickets.

Also, my advice - don't bother with the Es Paradis water party, it's awful and doesn't seem to fit in with the other parties you want to do (also recommend you reconsider Extreme Euphoria!) ;)

And apart from Space, all clubs open 12-1am.

Happy Hols 8)

heh... what's so bad about the water party? It's just very well known and having never been to Ibiza before, I figured it was sort of obligatory.

By the way, I just read an old Space review thread and saw something about them taking cameras at the door. What the heck is with that? Is this something the other clubs do too? I should hope I'd be able to bring back pictures from the Ibiza experience.

The water party is very well known, thats correct. I've not met many people who enjoyed it, we never liked it and I've only read bad reviews! It's very popular with the younger, boozier crowd and the salty water only comes on at the end of the night for half hour and fills up the small dancefloor to knee/waistheight. Very disappointing. And then you'll leave the club soaking wet, freezing, clothes ruined, no taxi will take you. Apart from all that it's fantastic!!

As for the cameras, you'll have this problem at all the clubs. It's possible to slyly get cameras in but there are 2 reasons they aren't allowed.

1. They clubs employ photographers to take pictures of people who want them taken.

2. Pictures could be taken that compromise the club/promoter/clubber (ie. drugs)

My trip is looking really freaking expensive anyway, so I might take your advice to skip the water party by just arriving a day later in Ibiza. It'll be one less day I have to take off work and save me a little cash. If Euphoria vs. Tidy isn't good, I can always make that my off night or small club night and go for La Troya at Amnesia on Wednesday.

I see good things in the reviews about Circo Loco, but damn, it's competing on Monday nights with Cocoon and Release Yourself. Mondays are one crazy good night in Ibiza this year if the reviews on this forum of previous year's events are any indicator.

What are the hours for WLS?

It opens 8am Sunday Morning thru to 6am Monday morning. Most people tend to get there in the afternoon/evening depending on your music taste/stamina etc ;)

Circo Loco @ DC10 is a daytime club, it actually opens at 6am Monday when Space closes, it normally kicks off early afternoon and then closes 10pm-ish Monday night.

22 hour party? wow... do they serve food? I saw something in another thread that if you got there too early in the morning on some discount, you didn't get the band that would let you leave and come back once. Hope you usually get one. I'd have to leave for FOOOOOOOD! :p

oh my... so, all day Sunday at Space til 6am Monday morning, then you can stuff your face somewhere and head over to Circo Loco, then from there to Cocoon or Release Yourself until early morning on Tuesday. Oh wait... I'd die.

I'm still trying to get this question answered. Why are the multipasses a bad idea. Everything I read states getting them is cheaper, or at the very least get them from people on the streets or the bars before you go.

Does anyone know anything about this place www.staribiza.com? I'm trying to get the rose apartment. Is this place as good as it looks?

Multi passes are bad news buddy.
From my experience you are best off buying your tickets at the pre parties.

The thing with multi passes is that you can have trouble getting into a rammed place. The door staff are more likely to be leniant with people who they know have paid the full price for legit tickets, you know.

Also, steer clear of "Buy 4 tickets and get one guest list free" ideas!

My trip is officially booked. :D I'm skipping the 18th and showing up on the 19th in the afternoon. I'll get my hotel, grab a bite to eat, and hopefully head for WLS just a few minutes walk from my hotel. The tour that will put me back in Ibiza from the 27th to the 30th is also booked. So I'll definitely be in Ibiza next month! Cheers!

p.s. Once I get into Space, is it possible to leave and come back?

If you get a pass-out at We Love Sundays (ie you get there earlier in the day but don't get the ultra-cheap tickets first thing) then yes. People tend to go there in the early afternoon for a few hours, then head back to their place to freshen up (or go to Bora Bora for a bit!) before heading back for the last stint.

I am yet to met anyone who's been there for the full 22 hours. Barbie? ;) If you did, you'd either need a week to recover and/or spend several hundred euros on drinks as they're not cheap in there.

They don't serve food, apart from the lollypops in the Space shop. :D

I hear the pass outs are for before 4pm. I probably won't get there until 4 or 5, so I guess that's out. I'll have to make sure I eat a lot before I go. Anywhere good to eat near Space/Garbi? :p

Playa d'en Bossa isn't the best area in Ibiza for cuisine, but for good pre-club food, there's a nice pizzaria pretty much directly over the road from Space.

There's also a lovely Indian restaurant called Tandoori Nights but that might not be the best idea. ;)
