In some of the listings, there's "(live)" beside some of the DJs. What does this mean? Are the other DJs not live? ??

No, that just means there is some kind of live performance!
Could be a singer, percussionist or other musician who plays along with DJ tracks.
Or it could be a full on live show (Grace Jones recently performed during a night at Space, for example)

or it could just be DJ Live Set, a well known DJ on the island. Indeed he seems to play absolutely everywhere over the summer and with all the other big name djs

that would be them playing their own music live not playing "records" as such

Ay, that makes somewhat more sense. I couldn't quite piece together what "live" would mean otherwise. Many gracias!
