get around the island cheaply???? I want to see as much of the island as possible without spending the earth on taxis etc..neither of us drive so car hire is not an option. The first time i went to ibiza we went on a bus tour but it wasnt great...too hot and not enough time in each place.

puh...without taking a bus, a taxi and driving a car...it will be very difficult to go around...perhaps you have to go by bicycle :(

There is a bus service that runs efficiently round the island, not just organised tours. Search the main site here, and I'm sure you will find all the info you need

Rent scooters, me and 3 other guys did this when we were there and got to explore the whole island and got to choose where we went and when, it was perfect we would cruise aorund for a bit and then check out different beaches. We rented them for 35 euros a day, not too bad at all. Hope this helps

I think if you are not that familiar with the main spots of the island you can probably get away with just using ferries, buses and the occasional taxi.

I've kind of got to the stage when I feel we need to head of the beaten track on this trip and will probably hire a car for the first time and see what we can find up to North and South-West of the island.
