Holiday Money - How far will it go this year?

Hi There,

I have missed a year on the island and am going back this August and possibly June also.

2003 was still very expensive and I know that the British Pound doesn't go far in Spain at the moment, but do you know / anticipate the same costs? Was last year expensive too?

Now I know that certains things have always been "expensive" compared to other holiday places, the big clubs and the drinks in some places. The first time I went was 1998 when it was the Peseta and very good value for us Brits. I spent £350 over a fortnight and went to Space, Amensia, Es Paradis (we got in free a couple of times though!).

Mind you I didn't drink that much and had a carry out before we went out and we lived on tuna salads and rolls with the odd resturant meal in between!

Last 2 times I have spent £1000 for a fortnight but this included some quality meals and other recreational items.

Many thanks! Sorry I have rambled on a bit!

Don't be sorry for rambling SB. Everybody does it here! I've no idea about your financial situation though.

YES!

8O I THOUGHT IBIZA WAS very expensive 2004! The big clubs being greedy as usual, ripping the punters off!.mind you the clubbers only have themselves to blame for that one! 8O how do the clubs make there money...if none or very few of you are drinking beer! ;) SERIOUSLY the clubs in ibiza are way to greedy, eating out is still cheap though,as are ciggarettes, and beer in the west end.The grocers shops in ibiza are expensive though(1.80 euros for a 'BIMBO" SQUARE sliced loaf....greedy sods!. :D

Euro/USD

Well I'm coming from the U.S. so I except to pay a hefty price for my brief six night stay. Because our dipshit President is running up budget deficits and ignoring all domestic issues, it now takes 1.32 dollars to make one Euro.
Plus I'm going to Canada for graduate school in September and the exchange rate is no where near as good as it was a few years ago. It used to be 1 U.S. gets you 1.50 Canadian but now it only gets you 1.22 Canadian. My program is very expense (38000CAN total) so you can image small change in the exchange rate makes a big deal for me. I would be saving thousands if the xchange rate is what it used to be.

I went in the last week of september in 2004. Went to Pacha twice, space once, hired a convertible between 2 for 5 days, drank a lot 5 out of 7 nights, and other stuff too 8)
Spent just over a grand. A lot more expensive drinks wise than my previous visits, and I plan to take £2000 for a fortnight this year.

Im taking £1500 as well as my credit card this year, just in case. I spent most of my £500 in the first few days of my 7 day trip. You quickly learn. I spent £60 within 2 hours of arriving (and considering the plane touched down at 2am thats not bad going). Did anyone ever see Brewster's Millions? he should have gone to Ibiza to spend that money.
