Hipercar

A couple of months back, we booked our car through amigoautos, and thought we got a really good deal. A seat Ibiza for 11 days from 1st september for £180. I later realised we were actually hiring this from Hipercar. I have recently read all the horror stories on here about them and am slightly panicked about them, but something about my booking that seems to be different from all the bad stories is that I am picking the car up from their rental office in San Antonio. Does anyone know if this will make any difference or will the service still be as bad? I did read that the actual cars they provide are pretty good. Anyone want to give me some reassurance about this? Also, does anyone know where their San An office is?

I used Hipercar 2 years ago and it wasn't "bad" per se. The only drawbacks were that a) they're not inside the airport so you have to take a shuttle over to their building and b) there were a lot of people picking up cars so we had to wait a bit (in their air conditioned building, so it wasn't torture just inconvenient).

On the plus side, they never did charge me for the damage to the underside of the car (some plastic thing broke, which I duct-taped back into place ) despite the underside not being covered by insurance (which is true of all the rental agencies). They also were very kind about the dings I'd put on 3 of 4 corners of the car which were, fortunately, covered by insurance with no excess (a.k.a. deductable). The car was nice and I think even slightly better than what I'd requested.

If you're picking up the car in San An, I don't think you'll have any problems. Have a good trip!

Morbyd why are you picking it up from san an.better at airport,to airport.anyway i am not sure where the office is in san an.but when you get to ibiza,as you go out main exit across the road is the airport office ask them.i got a newer and better car than i booked, plus they are cool on damages ect, check car 1st point out any defects.

I always pick up my car at the airport... you save both time and the taxi fare to/from your hotel.

Laidlawjock here is getting his in San An. My point was just that the main problems with picking up Hipercar (when they're busy it takes a while to get your car and get going, and you've got to trek over to their office or wait for their shuttle) won't make a difference if he's getting his car in San An anyway.

As for airport pick-ups, I've used Centauro the past 2 years and had keys in my hand in as little as 10 minutes after picking up my baggage. Rental desk in the airport and cars in the airport garage.

i understand now.i use carjet.com..same keys in hand with 10 mins .off out of muti carpark in 5,brand new cars aswell only a few miles on clock.mine you that is in may.so not had much use

The office of Hipercar in San An is on the oposite street from Bar M, just 2 minutes walk from it!

Been renting a car from Hipercar for 4 years by now.

One thing is for sure:
They are the cheapest!
However for paying less you have to suffer the usually long queue and the 5+
minutes walk to thier offices from the airport or the 10+ minutes wait for a shuttle bus to take you there (i always choose walking).

As for the other factors - they are the same as any average car rental company out there.

I wouldn't say Hispacar are always the cheapest.

I've found that carjet.com and hispacar.com get you the cheapest rates. But they don't actually rent you the car - they are just booking agents. They set you up with whichever agency is offering the best deal (for example, I've used Carjet twice and had the rentals handled by Hiper and Centauro, and Hispacar once with the car coming from Centauro).
