We are overjoyed to announce that special guest for our 6th Birthday on Friday 7th May is the legendary Detroit techno superstar CARL CRAIG!!!!!

This will be a truly special, and very rare opportunity, to catch one of the world's best techno DJs / producers in a venue as intimate as the 350 capacity Reading Rooms in Dundee!

Recording under his own name and many aliases – including 69, Psyche, BFC, Paperclip People, Innerzone Orchestra, C2, Tres Demented and others – Craig owns a constellation of seminal recordings that have established him as an icon in the techno genre. He came of age as part of its ‘second generation,’ learning from the trio of pioneers credited with techno’s invention: Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. Though the genre has exploded in recent years, Craig’s role as a producer, DJ and ambassador for the music remains as vital as ever. His new tracks and remixes have become contemporary dancefloor staples and he continues to spin around the world, from intimate venues in San Francisco and New York to large festivals in Detroit, Tokyo and Berlin.

In the last year alone Carl Craig has been a headliner at huge events and brilliant venues such as the Sonar Festival in Barcelona, I Love Techno in Belgium, Nuits Sonores Festival in France, Amsterdam Dance Event, Glade Festival, Get Loaded In The Park, Bloc Weekend, Pressure's 11th Birthday at The Arches, The Sub Club, Fabric, Berghain/Panorama Bar in Berlin, Rex Club in Paris, Air in Tokyo, Space in Ibiza and many more...

Carl will be playing an extended 3 hour set for us and we will be adding part of a Funktion 1 sound system to provide the deepest bass just for this event!

Doors open at 21:30 with Carl coming on most likely at 23:30 so please get down early! We will be keeping a limited number of tickets available at the door on the night!

Advance tickets on sale now from Grouchos for only £12!

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who has supported Headway over the last 6 years, we really appreciate it as we could not have done it without you. We're still as enthusiastic about putting on a great party with great music as we were from that very first Wednesday night in Fat Sam's all those years ago! We hope you can all join us to celebrate our 6th birthday on Friday 7th May with one of the best techno DJs / producers on the planet!

Here's to the next 6 years! :)

We would like to thank everyone for making the effort to come to Headway on Friday despite no Carl Craig!

Rammed, great crowd, we really enjoyed playing for you all!

Sorry to the folk who travelled all the way from Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and beyond who did not know about the cancellation until they arrived at The Reading Rooms.

We hope you enjoyed seeing our residents play and that you'll be able to join as again next month for Carl Craig on Friday 4th June.

Remember, if you bought a Carl Craig ticket it is still valid for the rescheduled date on Friday 4th June!

Yeah, stressing all week about the ash, woke up on Friday morning, checked the news for the airports, saw they were all open thinking we've finally managed to get through it... then get an email from the agency about Carl's daughter. Gutted.
