Getting out of phone contracts early...

update;

Last thursday I found out that due to an "error" somehow. I couldnt make premium rate phone calls. Meaning I couldn't call the customer support number! Wasnt that fussed about that that much.

But, since Thursday, I have found that I have been unable to send mms messages. Which pissed me off as it was my mates birthday and didnt want her to think I forgot it.

I phoned o2 and the lady on the phone was supposed to send me the settings again, which she didnt. I then got onto email support checked the settings with a copy of the instructions given to me by one of o2 staff over email to see if there was any errors in my set up but there wasn't.

I still can't send them, and yesterday, I found out that On top of all this bullshit, I cant even recieve messages at all now! (sms and mms). Ive sent several texts from other phones to my number to check but they're not coming through But I can send sms. What a hecking headheck.

did ye not get the settings from the nokia link i sent u?

Tried them as well I think. Then tried the settings sent to me directly from someone in o2. Nothing works. Everything is shit. The world is not fair

I'll give them one last chance on email before getting on the batphone amigo...

Hopefully I'll be able to get out of the contract without handing over a wedge.

tell em yr disgusted with the level of service over such a minor matter, and that if they dont get it sorted within a week, yr gonna get OFCOM on yr case.

you'll be amazed how fast yr phone will be working,

OFCOM could be my hero...

Will use that as my ace Chewster :P

Last year I had similar problems. My phone was damaged and under the terms of my contract I requested a new one. I was also having problems with settings they would send me (took them 3 months to set up) It dragged on for about 2 months until I eventually demanded I be disconnected. i was put through to retention, who, funnily enough, seemed very keen to keep me as a customer. i reminded them that over the course of the year I had spent close to £1500 on calls and texts. Within 2 days I had a new phone. And I haven't had 1 problem since. in fact, on the phone the other day, retention were overly-pleasant. I must have a marker on my file or something for being stroppy.

Think it is a problem with my handset. Just been to the o2 shop by mine and they said they could send it off today. Problem is they dont have any loan phones. (unts. :x

I got a loan phone from phones4u once and it was the most ridiculous thing I had ever had. It was from about 6 years ago and was massive, I'm sorry to say that I'm so vain that I felt embarrassed to use it.

Added to the sheer size of it was token pieces of sellotape holding it together...

Glad I'm with orange insurance, although they don't give you a brand new phone (it's likely to be refurbished - but still without scratches) you do get a new one delievered the next day to you. :D

naddyz, i lost one of those phones (except it was from the crapphone warehouse) and had to pay £50 for a replacement!

the guy at carphone warehouse actually asked me "how the hell did you manage to lose it, it was f***ing massive!!!"

They are bound by the 'Supply of Goods and Services Act'

So phone them and say you are contacting OFCOM regarding the performance of the handset and the network services you signed up to.

Request that they cancel your contract as the goods and servies (handset and messaging etc.) have not been supplied in line with the act above and you are therefore within your statutory rights as a consumer to demand a cancellation and refund (if applicable).

Go get em Floyd!! :D
