Funkageda, Micky Slim and Kate Lawler
Saturday 3rd April
For the 1st time Micky Slim comes to GB alongside special guest Funkagenda and another debut Kate Lawler.
If you haven’t heard of Funkagenda, where have you been hiding? Over the last few years, he has become a name synonymous with quality house music. Already having featured on labels as prominent as Toolroom, Positiva, Defected, Azuli, MOS & More, his production and remix skills are highly sought after worldwide, currently enjoying support from the likes of Pete Tong, Axwell, Dirty South, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Plus even the world’s #1 DJ Armin van Buuren. Funkagenda’s name is definitely a driving force in house music today.
As one of the most charismatic individuals to smash his way onto the house music scene in recent years, Micky Slim is the Birmingham-bred bad boy that has arrived and is ready to take over. For if 2005 was the year clubbers started murmuring about that boy Slim, then 2006 was the year they started shouting it from the hilltops. And who can blame them? With an outstanding production portfolio that has had a phenomenal success rate of being heard on BBC Radio1, an international residency that gives Micky global exposure, and a few helping hands (more later), its clear that Micky is not just one of the UKs finest up-and-coming talents, he is getting recognition the world over.
Since she burst into the UK’s consciousness back in 2004, Kate Lawler has worked harder than most at getting the world to sit up and take notice. Her relentless, never let them knock you down approach to work is the contributing factor to her meteoric rise. Successfully building herself a reputation as one of the leading female DJs in the country, she’s regularly rocking the UK’s premier venues and music festivals. Versatile, inventive, energetic and passionate, she’s kicked it alongside some of the worlds biggest DJ's including Eric Prydz, Mark Knight, Sebastien Leger, David Guetta, Steve Angello, 2 Many DJs, Nic Fancuilli, James Zabelia, Chris Lake, impressing promoters and fellow DJs with her infectious style. Whether it’s deep tech or techno, or those main room big house sounds, if you’ve ever seen Kate DJ, you’ll know that she’s as much a part of the crowd as she is maestro of the music!
