Foo Fighters in Ibiza?!

In the last few days there's been some comments on social media about Foo Fighters playing at Can Jordi last monday and someone even took the time to create this image...

Obviously the Foos didn't play here but the ex-The Wallflowers Rami Jaffee (long-time FF's touring keyboardist and now officially the sixth member of the group) and the ex-The Jayhawks Jessy Greene (FF's touring violinist) certainly did, along with alternative country singer Jonny Kaplan and local friends, for Vicent's birthday.

The three American musicians came to the island invited by producer Henry Sarmiento (same happened with Ricky Warwick -The Almighty/Thin Lizzy/Black Star Riders-, who was recently at Lenny Ibizarre's studio). Once here they met famous Ibiza residents like sculptor Jonathan Wylder, Andy Taylor from Duran Duran and many more...

Meeting of the minds , with the one and only Andy Taylor. His new tunes are KILLER.

And, of course, they had plenty of time to jam. On sunday 16th they played at Racó Ibiza in San Rafael...

Afterwards they stopped at Cala D'Hort...

On tuesday 18th they visited the studios of Pure Ibiza Radio (David Moreno's new radio station)...

Afterwards they went to a villa somewhere in Santa Eulalia, apparently...

Gracies Can Jordi, Gracies Vicent ...
LOVE YOU!!!

Apart from lots of covers (Bob Dylan, The Band, The Byrds, Rolling Stones, etc), they also played some of their own material. Two weeks jamming with local musicians and enjoying the island, seems like they love it...

Apparently Rami continues on the island... maybe when he said "that... is... our.... home" he meant it literally?!

... and here's a video he shared on social media:

It looks like a lot of fun for everyone. Hope to catch something similar/ random like that next year. Whoever happened upon them got a real treat.

I met Q Derhino (singing with them in some of the clips above) in 2012 on my last trip. Had an extended chat about alot of things. Really nice guy.
