Foam party straight or Gay

Hi,
First of this is a great forum, so I hope you can accept an Ibiza newbie and answer my question.
Having never gone to Ibiza for clubbing before (and being more into Rock than dance) , I am some what confused when the Foam party at Amnesia is being advertised as Gay House.
Is this a musical term or a Gay night, whilst I have nothing against Homosexuals, I have no intention of visiting any Gay bars or gay events.
So is the Foam party Gay?

yea.. but you will find many gay/transexuals in ibiza in genral. they are all over the place so although you may not intend to go to any gay parties they will be at all the parties you go to anyway. people are very accepting of gay/transexuals in ibiza so any party that is "gay" is generally mixed. with that said, the "gay" section of espuma is on the terrace and the espuma is in the main room.
 
Okay thanks for that. Is the foam party worth doing? For a newbie?
 
Yeah it's worth doing. My friends and I got back from our trip last week. We did foam party at Amnesia last Thursday. Our first time. Be warned that it doesn't start until 6am so don't worry about showing up too early. Wear shorts and a t-shirt or something you don't care that gets soaked. And don't be stupid like my friends and I -- check your cell phone and cameras at the front desk. Keeping them with you is just asking for trouble. Leave your wallet at home and only bring what you need to the club. Try and wear something with pockets that are zipped/velcroed closed. Lots of pickpockets in the craziness. And keep a very close eye on your female friends ...And do NOT wear flip flops. It gets mad packed in there and goes crazy when the foam starts.
 
I'm confused which night is the foam night. I was under the impression that it was Sunday, or is it always foam night?
 
I think they do it both Wed. and Sun. nights. Check the calendar to be sure though.
 
espuma is on sunday night, in conjunction with georgous party, and on wednesday night in conjunction with la troya.

La Troya is the name of the party on the terrace where there is usually a 'theme'....the night i went it was a Brazilian theme party and it was like carnivale in Rio, decorations, dancers...etc. It is such a great party b/c everyone is up for it just having a great time. It is not TOTALLY gay, so don't be scared. All the straights know this is one of the BEST parties on the island. I'll never forget being out on the terrace dancing at 7am when the club was PACKED....light streaming into the place....it was wicked.
It was as if this was the LAST party on Earth! Dancing like it was 1999 or something. Brilliant. That image will stay w/ me forever i think. :D

I concur. It was one of the best nights out I had during my trip this year and I will definitely be back!

The missus and I stayed on the terrace all night long and all of a sudden realized that sunlight was streaming through the roof. Good music, fun crowd, good atmosphere. Yes, there were a lot of Gay men but even more straight men and womenl... everyone's accepting and no one bothers anyone.

We did not play in any foam though...
