hey all,
my friend and i are heading over to the party island this summer.
a few questions:
1. we're planning on staying at San Antonio. Is this the recommended location for getting to all the clubs? or are there more central places?
2. where can i purchase a club pass (entry into multiple clubs) ? or individual entry passes online? i've read/heard that entry is cheaper on the island. is that correct?
3. looking at the party calendar, what time do the clubs open? for example, if cream @ amnesia is showing on thurs. does that mean thurs morning (a.m) or thurs night (p.m)?
any suggestions or comments appreciated.
thanks.
1. The clubs are dotted over the island. It all depends where you want to go but Eden and Es Paradis are in San Antonio (not my cup of tea, though), Pacha and El Divinio are in Ibiza Town, Priviledge and Amnesia are on the road between San Antonio and Ibiza Town and Space is in Playa D'en Bossa.
You can get to them all fairly easilly, thanks to the disco bus which is pretty cheap too, and means you don't need to rely on taxis. They stop by all the major clubs (named above). There is a pick-up point in San Antonio.
I always stay in Playa D'en Bossa (or Figueretas this year) on the other side of the island as I want to go to Space, Ibiza Town and Bora Bora (a fantastic free beach-bar in Playa D'en Bossa) all of which are near, but it really depends what you want. San Antonio has the advantage of the Sunst Strip and it's cheap on the whole, but it wouldn't make sense for me to stay there as I'd constantly be traveling to the other side of the island for the places I've named above.
2. It is cheaper to get tickets when over there and as they're so large, they don't tend to sell out, so really no need to get them in advance. You can buy them from loads of places; sellers on the street, bars and cafes, specialist ticket shops etc. You'll see hundreds in San An alone. Although it is worth shopping about, as they often charge different prices and we often saved ourselves several euros each simply by going to a place a hundred yards down the road to get tickets.
Also, you can get money-off flyers which are left lying about in bars (especially the main pre-club places in San Antonio on the sunset strip and in Ibiza Town) these often save you lots of money, but tend to only be used if you purchase tickets on the door.
Any pass you can get for entry into all the clubs, find out what clubs it covers, as they sound a bit dodgy to me and may only be for the less popular nights
3. Most clubs are PM and don't tend to get going until after midnight (usually about 1am) as they go on for so long, usually until about 7am.
Obviously the exceptions to this are most of the Space nights (bar Carl Cox) which are day clubs and Circo Loco at DC10 which kicks off a couple of hours after Sundays @ Space finishes (that night lasts from 8am Sunday to 6am Monday!) and goes on, usally until about 8pm.
I hope this helps and have a great time!
