First Mac OS X virus (trojan)?

I've heard it's not that serious.... but perhaps the beginning of a trend? Teach you Mac users to be so smug :twisted:
 
this is why apple never advertises that they don't get viruses. They just say they are more secure, which is true.

It's thought that Apple could read 10% marketshare in the US over the next few years 8O 8)

Yes. It uses spotlight to infect the last 4 programmes you've used that don't require administrator rights to modify them. But don't worry Sil, you need to receive the file, unzip it AND run it before it can do any damage, so just don't open it and you'll be fine! :)

That's Apple Spotlight, not Ibiza Spotlight, by the way! ;) :lol:

In the spanish new they said it's through ichat, but anyway I don't use spotlight and I don't ichat :D


Now it's time to think about buying an antivirus :roll:
 
I'll be joining the mac buddies group shortly -- taking delivery of a MAC Book Pro next month and very much looking forward to getting my grubby paws on the beast! :p

Just checked and it's 10.3.9 I'm on so not a prob for me I guess.
Do you have to pay to update to 10.4 Tiger? If so how much?

ah the joys of having an operating system that doesnt mean u fork out ££££s for software upgrades, that still works fine.
