European phone cards (bit urgent)

Hey all,

Got a quick, but urgent, question since i'm leaving in under 48 hours. If I buy a phone card at the Manchester airport, can I use this when I land in Ibiza? Also, how do I go abouts calling an Ibiza number from Ibiza (ie. what do I dial before 34... or do I dial anything before) and what do I dial before the country codes if I'm callin between Ibiza and UK?? Thanks all!!

Terry

dunno what you mean about the phone card- mobile?payphone?

i assume to call an ibiza number from ibiza you just actualy dial the number.

to dial the uk from ibiza is i think 00 44 then the number MINUS the first number of the area code. its early and i could be wrong but i think thats right.

Hey dude,
If you mean normal prepay phone cards then they aren't really as widely used over in Europe as in North America.

I guess you mean the ones you buy from 7Eleven right?

Not seen them in the UK and I am pretty sure they won't work in mainland Europe / Ibiza because the Spanish network is just as foreign to the UK as the Candadian one.

Not sure on the numbers codes side of things but I am sure the residents will be able to advise - McRackin etc.....

Yeah, I meant the phone cards you buy at the store for a payphone. OK, so if they are not universal, can someone tell me if there is a place open at around 9PM at the Ibiza airport that would sell a payphone card??

I've never seen them for sale anywhere. People generally use cash in the payphones or some take credit cards. My advice if you are in San An would be to try Wips supermarket just set back from the front.
If you stand at the Egg roundabout you can't miss it.
