Anyone catch DJ Spen? 8)
It was wicked - not heard a mix like that in ages! It's going to be on constant rotation on my system for the next month! :lol:

Line ups are shaping up to be pretty good:

18th March - Groove Armada (controlversially quite looking forward to this because I love their studio mixes)
25th March - WMC Part 1- Frankie Knuckles & DJ Dan (yum)
1st April - WMC Part 2 - Nic Fanciulli, James Zabiela & Richie Hawtin (yum, yum!)

yum yum from me too, might have to download the spen one, what is it then - last time i saw him it was jazzy groovy deep house.

(btw - i'm making an effort here to give the kitchen thread some competition!;))
 
yes its very jazzy, groovy, deep.

I was about to begin this reply saying i found the mix incredibly boring. Almost every song sounds the same, loads of percussion, very flat and with an annoying gospel type vocal over the top.

However, I did notice that every once in a while there were some tunes which i enjoyed. Some seemed to have some sort of catchy bassy melody. but i still think the mix could do with more peaks and troughs. Its bar music to me, not what id want to hear in a club.

But then eveyrone knows im not a big fan of souful house!
