Local's favourite live music event Dorado Live Shows returns to Santos in Playa den Bossa for its sixth season and from now on they'll be announcing a new artist every thursday, a good way to get in the mood.

This summer ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to Ibiza Preservation. As you should know, since one year ago they write a monthly column for Ibiza Spotlight called Sustainability Matters about environmental issues affecting Ibiza and Formentera and offer advice on how visitors and residents alike can help make a difference. Concept Hotel Group continue supporting live music and culture in general (as you can see on their agenda). From the secret intimate show of Russian Red last week at Cubanito (who already played at Paradiso back in 2018) to the huge line-up for Sonorama Ribera goes to Ibiza in october, they have events for all tastes.

This week was all about Dorado Live Shows at Santos, which returned with its most eclectic line-up to date. Like last summer, for now they don't sell individual tickets, having to book a bed or table with 2, 4 or 6 friends. Hopefully this will change soon and we'll be able stand on our feet and dance around later in the season.

For obvious reasons, the after-partys at Pikes with Rock Nights aren't happening but, if all goes according to plan, from august there might be something similar happening at Romeo's on fridays during the day.





For the local bands that get to play at these series of concerts it's a great chance to show their music to a new audience who's there to see the headliners. Last night Vudu Delta couldn't have made a better impression.

The up-and-coming quartet started at the beginning of 2019 and plays blues rock with a lot of soul. For this special occasion, José, Adri, Luis and Carlos were joined by Sophie from the disappeared band Windrose on backing vocals. With the sun still out, they made the most of their time on stage presenting "Recuérdame", "No todo sale bien" and others titles that will be part of their debut album, to be published in september.

The crowd around me loved them and talking to people later, I know they made plenty of new fans... mission accomplished!

Indie sensation La Bien Querida, the artistic alias of Ana Fernández-Villaverde, is one of the most important female singers in Spain. The painter-turned-musician from Bilbao has a prolific discography that spans more than a decade and consists of five full length albums, a compilation of EPs and a long-as-my-arm list of 7-inch singles, digital-only releases and collaborations with other artists.

Armed with a guitar as her only instrument and that mystic whispering voice, her songs sounded as they were originally conceived without all those electronic beats on record. In addition to songs from her latest album Brujería (2019) like "La verdad" or "Te quiero", her set also included the most popular songs from her previous releases like "La pieza que me falta", "Muero de amor" or "Recompensarte", which got the biggest applause of the night.

The well liked was well liked around here!

No Rock Nights at Pikes this summer but this will be the Dorado Live Shows aftershow with the Rock Nights djs (Colin Peters, Lola Von Dage, Fat Gordon, etc), members of the bands that played the night before doing dj sets, karaoke and more!
