Due to the clampdown on outdoor music by Sant Josep's council, Dorado Live Shows had to be moved from the beautiful pool area of the Santos hotel to the nearby club Swag...

Iván Ferreiro already played at the Sueños De Libertad festival last year and I'm sure he'll be back as he has many fans here.

After the promoter read a manifesto in support of live music, his 60-minute acoustic show started. Accompanied only by his brother Amaro on guitar, the ex-leader of Los Piratas presented his last album Casa (2016), from which we heard songs like "La otra mitad" or "El pensamiento circular" mixed with older stuff like "El viaje de Chihiro" or "Ciudadano A". But my favourite moments were the three songs from his previous band, "El equilibrio es imposible", "Promesas que no valen nada" (which merged into El Último De La Fila's classic "Insurrección) and "Años 80".

Great gig despite the change of location. In two weeks it will be the turn of Dorian, hopefully next to the sea as usual and not inside a club.

Despite last week's troubled start, everything went back to normal for the return of one of the most renowned artists in the Spanish music scene. A crew from IB3 television was there to get some coverage of the show for a feature about the persecution live music is going through at the moment in Ibiza...

After their previous gig at Santos two summers ago, one of the busiest in this series of acoustic concerts, three fifths of Dorian were back.

The band from Barcelona presented their most recent album Justicia universal (2018), including the standout first single "Noches blancas" among others, along with old favourites like "Verte amanecer", "Paraísos artificiales", "Los amigos que perdí", "La mañana herida", "El temblor", "La tormenta de arena" or "Cualquier otra parte".

Dorado Live Shows went back to where it belongs and we were able to enjoy another fantastic open air concert next to the sea with the (almost) full moon above our heads.

Sidonie debuted on the island at last year's Sueños De Libertad Festival and this time they were back for a more intimate show, half electric and half acoustic, as part of their 20th anniversary tour.

The trio from Barcelona has just released the single "Maravilloso" that will be included on a new compilation to be released in september. Aside from the new song, the set was based on some of their most famous songs like "Siglo XX", "Por ti", "En mi garganta", "El peor grupo del mundo", "El incendio", "Un día de mierda", "Carreteras infinitas" or "Estáis aquí" along with a couple of covers, an improvised accapella version of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and The Rolling Stones' "Honky tonk woman". To everybody's surprise, it finished with Marc, Jesús and Axel jumping into the pool.

The fun continued at Pikes, where Rock Nights celebrated 13 years of going against the grain by playing rock music on an island like Ibiza.

You mentioned El Ultimo De La Fila. I think "Como Un Burro.. " is probably one of the most played tracks on Spanish radio / in bars over the last 25 years. A classic!

sad to hear about the state of live music though - is it the usual dirty politics or a lack of suitable venues? or simply not enough demand?

“because the problem of Sant Josep is not this type of music, but the excesses that have been committed in certain tourism businesses”, a situation that has led to the tightening of municipal ordinances. The mayor does not specifically state DJs playing electronic dance music, but we’ll stick our neck out and say we all know that is exactly what he is referring to when he refers to “certain tourism businesses”

no wonder so many locals hate with passion everything club-related...

I guess it must get legally complicated when it comes to defining ‘live’ music - the boundaries between dj music, electronic bands and live performance music are increasingly blurred.

**Comunicado oficial sobre Dorado Live Shows**

* a well-known international band that played twice at Ibiza Rocks...

After a short parenthesis, Dorado Live Shows was back with the best band to ever come out of Valladolid after Celtas Cortos...

But first it was the turn of the much-loved local band Uncle Sal and their annual show at Santos.

From their two albums, Little Cabin Music (2015) and You Ain't No Bluesman (2017), they played the songs "Hard Life", "Red's Lounge Boogie", "Little Wolf", "A Runnin' Buffalo", "Mississippi State Line" and "Three Days In New Orleans". One of the most interesting parts of their concerts is their always exciting selection of covers, this time we heard "Don't Be Denied" by Neil Young and "One More Cup Of Coffee" by Bob Dylan. And if that wasn't enough, they gave us a taste of their upcoming third album with the new song "The American Dream".

The best band from Ibiza by a mile, as they continue to prove concert after concert.

@JLDiezMacayo

Third time on the island for Arizona Baby after they played five years ago at the Sant Josep Blues Rock Festival and two years ago at the Sueños De Libertad Festival. There's a strong relationship with other bands that have been part of the Dorado Live Shows line-ups (for example Los Coronas, with whom they created the side project Corizonas, or L.A., who covered together "Standing in the way of control" by Gossip) so it made perfect sense to bring them too.

The music of the bearded neo-folk band is acoustic so in this case they didn't have to adapt their tunes to the unplugged format. This time they came without the drummer as a duo instead of a trio. Javier Vielba and Rubén Marrón's performance included songs like "Survive", "Everything", "The Truth", "Shiralee" or "Time To Go" plus a couple of new ones from the album they will release in october. On the covers front, they couldn't have been more eclectic: "16 Toneladas" by José Guardiola and "The Model" by Kraftwerk.

Always a pleasure to see them live.

there's a few things but i know that you "wouldn't want to hear indie in Spain though. Ever" and i don't expect you to be into hard rock, so i would check can jordi in ctra san josé on saturday afternoon (band TBA) and the jambalaya festival at eddie's dinner in san antonio's promenade on sunday afternoon (with fat "gumbo" bradley + the moonshine band live). no live music but ibiza vinyl club at malanga cafe on tuesday might be up your calle and namaste at las dalias on wednesday always has a bit of live music and it's free entry from 7 till 9pm.
