Cream Amnesia (way to packed)

I've been to Ibiza a load of times now and what i hate about it is how packed Cream does be, why don't they move to Privilege ??? Last yr i was at the closing party and it was a joke, couldn't move at all, no matter where i stood and I was also there in August, and had to leave early cause it was 2 packed, i had to leave at around 330 at the closing party :( but i wasn't the only one, when i got back to the apartment, loads came back cause they couldn't breath, move and were nearly trampled on. I'm going back for a month this year and i said i wont be going near Cream this year but how can you not, i love Paul Van Dyk. All my mates will be going every Thursday. I think its a disaster waiting to happen, if a fire breaks out in that club we are all fooked. I know there are fire doors up at the right hand side but I think thats all ive seen, im probably wrong cause i dont go in looking for them but they are the only ones ive seen. If they are getting the huge crowds, why cant they move to a bigger club, i use to run nights myself so im sure money isnt an issue with Cream to move to a club thats bigger.

I was there for the closing last year and found it to be very busy but certainly not bad enough to leave! The worst area was between the two rooms, which was a pretty unbearable crush, BUT if you find yourself a spot somewhere in the club and stay there for most of the night you should be fine.

I haven't been but i understand Armada is generally considered a better trance night, and probably wouldn't be as busy as Cream.

I shouldn't think Cream would move to Privilege, Amnesia is a far better quality club (imo).

Same on the Radio one weekend at Cream. Everywhere apart from the entrance and toilets was arm to arm people. Hardly room to breathe let alone dance.

Going in June/July this time, was much better last time I went those months..

Was there several times (also for a closing party). Of course you are right when you say that is packed every thursday - but I never had a thought of "Get me outa here" when I was there....

I don´t think that Cream would be the same in Privilege...

Yep, me too. I was at Cream closing last year. I won't be going back to a Cream night at Amnesia. Not my idea of a good night at all. We went through to the terrace around 3 which wasn't too bad and we stayed there til 5 then left but the main room was the busiest place I've ever been. I'm not usually claustrophobic but I was that night. It was horrible.

I need room to get my groove on.

Cream actually started off life at Pacha in a one-off party in 1994 before moving onto Privilege (then Ku) in 1995 for a year residency of weekly parties. The year after they moved to Amnesia and the rest is history...

I think Cream would do well in returning to Privilege. They could open most of the club and you'd still have space to move

I think Amnesia generally likes to "cram tehm in" , although to be fair i went there on an opening night and it was rammed really really packed. if you were at the front by the spectrum analyiser i have no idea how you would have gone to the loo or got a drink!
I stayed put on the bass bin for as long as i could.

:-)

It was a little bit busy on closing night! We gave up trying to get into the main room but still had room to dance in the Terrace and had good fun in there.
My mates were more pissed off about the drink prices in there.
The most expensive we have found to date

Very true. €15 for a vodka & sprite is nothing short of scandalous! €10 for a tiny bottle of water is bordering on robbery. They must make so much money considering it probably costs them about €0.50 per bottle to buy in

They thought it was so bad they seeked out pills instead. So Amnesia lost out on any drink sales. Not clever really :?

I would happily pay €5 for a beer, and because i would percieve it as better value i'd probably spend €40-€50, but because it's such a rip-off, out of principle i limit my spending on alcoholic beverages to just a couple of drinks (max €30). They are shooting themselves in the foot a little for sure.

Best thing to do is get some supermarket beers down you before you leave, then find a cheap bar afterwards.

Yeah Amnesia V.i.p- 1100 euro for a bottle of Rose Cristal, and 180 euro for a 70cl bottle of smirnoff- that's robbery!!!

I didn't last 30 minutes at the cream closing- worst night of my trip, far too crowded. I thought it was just me since my friends stayed behind ( i figured after La Troya/Fake the night /day before anything would be a letdown) but I found out next day my friends left soon after. For some reason Amnesia just doesn't do it for me (main room, terrace is 8)) I really wish Cocoon would relocate to privilege permanently:twisted:

Sorry gotta disagree with you there. I think Amnesia is perfect for Cocoon. With Privilege you only really get the main room experience. The Coco Loco room is way to small to host the second room and the back room is a small box that always gets overlooked. Dj's like Hawtin and Villalobos need a bigger room than a 200 capacity one to play in hence the Amnesia terrace.
But I do love Privilege as well though- just don't think its too suited for that! :)

cream is by far the worst night ive ever been to because the "overpacking" issue...me and my girlfriend left only a couple hours after we got there on our first time to the island last year, and being that it was 45eur per ticket, we were pretty pissed.

they just blatenly cram that thing waaaaaay past fire capacity (is there even one in ibiza?? lol) its sooo uncomfortable!!!

and for the record: amnesias terrace is a way better room than the main one IMO...

exactly, the fire capacity ??? is there one, obviously not if they can cram that many in, it was SO packed at the closing party last yr it actually took me ages to get out, can u imagine if there was a fire ud be trampled on and loads killed, i also noticed loads were standing just at the door that they couldnt get in and this was around 330 am and they were still packing people in

I don't think it's that easy to just move b/c of overcrowding. Of course you have to think about Privelege's needs and the mgmt. and all that garbage. If every club moved b/c of overcrowding it would get crazy. I went in August and EVERY club was crowded i went too (yes, Amnesia, Space, Pacha...i think that is all i went too sorry me....). Anyhoo, Cream is and should always be at Amnesia. Sometimes you just gotta "deal" with the crowds. I know it does suck though. Like any club you just gotta find a spot and then enjoy it there.

I totally agree Tristan. I went on Cream night and that doorway was the WORST part. Literally took like 5 minutes just to pass through. the main room was crowded, but i didn't think TOO crowded. And the terrace was very busy but big enough to find spots. I personally think a big crowd ADDS to the electricity (especially at La Troya)....but when i get pushed and crushed of course you draw the line. Just move on from it and find a spot i suppose.

makes no sense to whine about overcrowded closing-parties -
who goes to a closingparty and expects to have a comfortable amount of space
to move must be a dreamer :-)

... that doorway was the WORST part.
Literally took like 5 minutes just to pass through...
BUT:
it´s absolutely unbelievable that something like the amnesia-exit
was approved from the responsible authorities.
2 big rooms - and only 1 ridiculous small and dark exit with the stairs ?!

it´s sometimes a nightmare when you want to leave and
get stucked in the exit-area.
and it always takes ages till they open the side-doors from the terrace.

it´s only a question of time till something is going to happen there.
