CREAM 05 - TIESTO

Went to Cream @ Ammensia on thursday night.

I must say, I was slightly disappointed with Tiesto's set. He was on for about 3 hours and just played real hard trance, no vocals, just straight up hard bleeping trance. I'm not a massive clued up trance fan but i have a rough idea what the big tunes are around at the moment and didn't hear any of them. I have heard ALL of his albums/mixes and this didn't resemble them in any shape at all. I was waiting all night for at least some melodic, vocal trance or just something which actually had a tune rather than just the same bleep noise in a different order.

Due to my feet hurting i decided to actually watch him dj for about 45minutes, as a dj, the way in interacts with the crowd and gets them going, well i really enjoyed that.

Number one dj in the world, not in my opinion at all, Erick Morillio, Rogar Sanchez, and Sandy Riveria all beat him in my opinion. I saw Above & Beyond, play Gatecrasher last year and they were amazing much better than Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk who they were warming up for.

What was the terrace like?

Was is still hard trance?

What do Shapeshifters play? I didn't think it was hard trance.

Even in my trance days I always thought Tiesto was a bit dull. Van Dyk played the night we went to Cream this year and I was very pleasantly surprised, he was great.

saw paul van dyk last year at gatecrasher and found his set even more boring than tiesto's. On the otherhand though, i've seen Above and Beyond, Marco V and Eddie Halliwell and they were all amazing and ten times better than tiesto/van dyk
