Cops???

This may be a stupid question but has anyone run into probs with cops or narcs etc...or heard any stories? Are there cops there and do they crack down on "stuff"? Or is it pretty laid back? Is it pretty chill in the clubs as far as that junks go...I haven't heard any horror stories of peeps ending up in an Ibiza prison but I just want to check that block and ease my mind.

Absinthe is legal. You can buy it in the supermarkets. Law says its illegal to have an open drink on the streets, but...

Possession is not illegal in Ibiza, but there's a fine line between possession and intent to sell. The later will get you thrown in jail (or cost you a hefty bribe). Some of the clubs will search you for drugs so think ahead. Cop checkpoints are sporadic and they will confiscate if they find it on you. The clubs try their best to minimize usage in the toliets using attendents and what not, but where there's a will...

Just be smart about how and what. I've already seen one death on this island, and last year I saw multiple all do (in part) to usage. Keep in mind that the cost of water is astronimical and the clubs are extremely hot. Use your head.
 
Just use the same respect in Ibiza that you would at home - you will be alright - its a popular misconception amongst the minority that Ibiza is 100%accepting where drugs are concerned, its not - just dont be blatant about it.

I had a discussion about drugs with a couple in BB last year about how its legal to have, use and distribute drugs in Ibiza... I am pretty sure that this is definately not the case.....
 
Is it not legal to drink on the street then? If not would they be fussy about it cause over here it is illegal but the cops never say anything to you anyway. And what about drinking on the beach is that ok to do?

You'll be ok to drink in the street.. Unless youre causing a racket and making a nuisance ofcourse. But if youre just going to a club with a drink in your hand for example you'll be ok.

Same goes for the beach. Just clean up afterwards ;)

Done that myself as well mate. Just need to be careful you don't start running round the plane like a maniac when the buckfast buzz hits you :lol:
