OK, now this might sound a bit weird, but I don't actually know what you would class my favourite musical genre as. I wouldn't even know which club nights during my stay would be the best (in my ears!!!).

So..... my favourite listenening consists of what I would consider classic trance hits such as Insomnia, Salva Mea, Cafe del Mar, Binary Finary, in fact pretty much most of what you find on the Euphoria 1, 2, 3, 4, Best of, white label and transcendental versions, alongside trance nation 1, 2, 3 and 4. Of course, the Breakdown and chilled Euphoria CDs also make regular appearances during the day for relaxation.

Anyone else recognise this style of music as being close to your heart? Any suggestions for club nights between 10th and 17th September to pay particular attention to?

Thanks, Steve

Hey Steve,

I'll be out in Ibiza at the same time as you 8)

You seem to be into your classic trance anthems. Therefore I'd suggest:

Slinky&Dave Pearce at Eden (Fri)
Judgement Sunday at Eden (Sun)
Armada at Amnesia (Tues)

and also try Cream at Amnesia on Thursdays

However, seen your in Ibiza how about trying out some other music genres to? You will find Funky House at most of the other clubs such as Space, El Divino, and also Pacha

Hope this helps

Hi Fergie,

definately helps thanks, looks like we'll be arriving just in time to catch Slinky and Dave Pearce on the closing party, infact, if I'd looked at the DJ listing for the same night the week before, I'd have seen Matt Darey listed 8) .

It appears that the Armada closing party is a couple of days before we arrive, so we've lost out on that one.

But our week does end nicely with the Cream closing party :o .

I think I can imagine Funky house. Where would be a good pre-party venue be to "try before I buy"?!?!? :D

You could try the funky lounge at Savannah's on sunset strip. This kicks off about midnight is a cool little venue ( just inside savannah's) and is free to get in!!!

Or try some of the pre-partys at mambo's :P

i went away this year and was more of a trance lover

went to pacha and it changed all that, the music was amazing and the club was top notch

try different things mate, let the atmosphere take u away

i would recommend pete tong at pacha(fri) erick morillo at pacha(wed)

i didnt enjoy cream this year, the music was excellent but the crowds were unbearable

When I first went in 2001, I was almost solely into trance. However, after giving other musical styles a chance, I can now safely say that House is my prefered taste.

As for 'trying before you buy', why not listen to some Funky house sets online via the Radio1 website for example, or buy some compilation cd's of the same genre 8)

My first time was 2002 when I certainly didn't dislike house, but I was basically into hard dance. The two weeks totally changed my outlook on music and on clubbing. Don't miss We Love Space or Underwater! If you want to try before you buy, go to Bora Bora - it will change your life.
