Chip pan fires?

is this really that big of a deal? I never knew there was a pan just for chips. :?:

I don't think it is as much of a deal now as it used to be as fewer people have chip pans as they are more health conscious. They were pretty common in my grandparents time when people made their own chips. My grandad has a scar on his had from a chip pan fire. Very random post by the way!

Chip pan fires, the scourge of the working classes.

They end up getting pissed, putting a chip pan on, falling asleep then burning down their council house and causing 2 fire engines to attend the scene.
