Worth getting?

I've been toying with the idea of putting one ony my car ever since I bought it. I want to protect it as much as I can obviously, but do car alarms really work? I mean, how often do you hear one going off and do nothing about it?
It's a brand new car so it's got an immobiliser etc, which makes it harder to steal, but should I get an alarm aswell, for extra protection

i recomend a clifford category 1 alarm from Gap Security.

they do good deals and offer some incentives in case your car does get stolen. Fitting a Cat 1 will also lower your insurance.

Def get a Cat 1 - Clifford are good but the scum know this and a lot of them know more about clifford alarms than the dealers/installers themselves. Clifford kind of suffered the effect of their own popularity/quality/reputaton They're still good though.

Autowatch are a much less known brand and are made/designed in the UK to very high standards. I've had one on my car for five years and it's never been stolen, broken into or suffered a false alarm or had any faults witht the alarm whatsoever.
