High Street or tailor?

I always get them from Next.

Unless you are an abnormal height/shape I don't think theres a need to get tailored suits these days.

Do you have an Asda? They've got some reasonable suits for not a lot.

Depends on what you're using it for. Selling yachts, tailored. Going for a MacDonalds interview, high street.

I've decided i need to get out of the office more, so it's just for business meetings in general really.

I don't think all people who buy high street suits are going for jobs at McD's gingerfreak  £250 on a next suit is quite sufficient i think, and with suits it all boils down to how you accesorise!!

Fronty: Try Slaters in Burgate (City Centre) or Next or (don't mean this rude!) Big for Men in Westbrook ;)

I think it depends what image you want to portray. What business are you in, some sort of construction stuff isn't it? I would have thought an off-the-peg suit will be fine. Go to Meadowhall and have a look round.

Drew, like anything it really depends how much you want to spend.

I have found that cheaper suits fall apart or lose their fit extremely quickly, but then I wear suits all day every day.

Whatever you buy, make sure that you get two pairs of trousers.

Austin Reed do good quality mid range suits, as do TM Lewins. If you want to spend a bit more then I like Canali, Richards James and Boss. Richard James may be too slim a fit for you (same with Armani) so it'll probably be a case of trawling the shops and trying on the various brands to see which fits best.

If you want to go for the tailored option, then come to London and I'll point you in the right direction - if you want something a little different but still great quality then check out Ozwald Boateng 8)

Debenhams do some really good off the peg suits. I got a couple of Jeff Banks ones from their that are great quality and fit. I think its worth having at least one really good tailored suit though too...

Thanks people.

I'd rather spend the money and buy quality, however i'll probably end up going for something off the peg.

What about Cecil Gee?

I try and avoid Meadowhell, but the Hugo Boss store may be worth checking out.

 Can't say I blame you mate. all those shopping centres are dire.

I probably only go there once a year.

Clothing shops in city centre are much better and Chav free.

The worse one I ever went to was the Trafford Centre.

Armani and Paul Smith all the way...3 button single breasted.

Navy, Grey and maybe a city pinstripe for those lah-di-dah meetings/events!

Bespoke suits (especially Ozwald B and Richard James!) come in at about £1500. BBS what line of business are you in? :)

Off the shelf Armani/PS - £500-£700.

Ya just can't beat a good fitting suit....if you have to wear one that is!

I was in Richard James at the weekend - they had the most gorgeous colours in fine knit jumpers for men ;)

I get most of my suits for work from Next too, altho ive been at this office for 3 weeks now and not one of the other 2 secretary's have worn a suit to work
