what do u do to someone who gives u backchat?

:?:

In front of other employees? Outwit them with humour that belittles them so they want to keep their head down. Later, in private, tell them straight if you ever have to waste your best lines on them again, you might not even open the door before you boot them through it.

Oh and don't forget that someone trying to outdo you in front of others is doing the same when you aren't there. Tell them you know this and if they don't learn to keep it shut, you will find out and they will regret it.

Just follow this procedure (working with HR)..

1. Sit them down and give them a verbal warning

2. If no improvement give them a written warning and a set of goals for them to improve

3. If still no improvement sack 'em

Midlife's up to date on employment legislation.

I know cos i had to follow this procedure a few week's ago. A suitable (and sustained) improvement was achieved.

1. Sit them down and give them a verbal warning - he's had 5 years worth.

2. If no improvement give them a written warning and a set of goals for them to improve - down to my boss

3. If still no improvement sack 'em - what i wanna do and get some fresh meat, i mean talent in.

hes being called in next week...
