I want a second tattoo on my lower back, something to do with my star sign Libra or the meaning of my name "Princess" :) .
Anyone got any ideas

I certainly won't be endorsing this libran effort:

Jinxie I was thinking that the scales across the small of your back would be tight... was considering it for myself actually. Also considering putting DJ headphones on the sun thats on my shoulder, and the Auryn from Never Ending Story on my ankle...

The Auryn is a little abrasive looking for my personality though... I mean two snakes, might look too biker chick... what do you think? That movie is just one of my favorites of all time and nicely symbolizes the great childhood I had.

I'm thinking outside of the box, I'd add my own input to the design. Start with

and customise.

Snakes would be cool if the could simplify them.

My suggestion to incorporate the constellation with the meaning of your name "princess" would be to use a language with a beautiful, yet not easily recognizable script.

My preference is Sanskrit devanagari because it has a lot of loops and isn't normally used for people's tattoos (though I hear Beckham has a transliteration of Victoria on his arm...but that is improper usage.) Since your name meaning is an actual word in Sanskrit I would suggest looking into that arena and melding the constellation and your name together in a cool bio-mechanical tattoo method (which is vibrant, gorgeous and original)...

Sorry, I have just spent way too much time researching my next tattoo and I always try to aim for something unique and that no one else will ever have or think of having...

Sanskrit is older and less recognizble. For me it is an interesting tattoo aesthetic...Hebraic script is used more often. Every language has a word for princess but I just think devanagari is beautiful (e.g. विस्मर्तव्यम्)

The only type of tat I would get is a sleeve tat w/ the entire arm tatooed and the design being my actual skin.

Like the guy on the top right

Anjali:

Which language is the oldest language that is still existent? Is it Sanskrit or Hebrew or Farsi or Greek? Just curious.

Thanks!

Laguna:

Well Sanskrit is considered "dead," but as far as I know Greek, Farsi, and Sanskrit are all part of the Indo-European language family which is generally considered the oldest. Hebrew is semitic and part of a different language family. The rough dates (which are not exact because it is extremely hard to date language origination and the main way to do it is based on the earliest SURVIVING texts) Farsi goes back to about 550-330 BCE, Hebrew to 10 century BCE, Greek goes back to 1500 BCE and Sanskrit is generally thought to originate based on the earliest Vedic works, which is around 8th-4th centuries BCE.

This is what I know in a general sense. I hope that answers your question? :D

Thanks, Anjali :D . I still have quite a few more questions for you, but we will talk later. I do not want to hijack this thread from PG and SJ. Can't p*ss off my fellow Librans  .

 :) Atta gal! You are so on my drift with that! Could incorporate yellow stars & D.O.B. too.
