Bleaching hair

from black to blonde anyone done it before? Does it totally damage your hair?

Most good hairdressers wouldn't recommend doing it and you'll find if you do do it the blonde will probably have a green tinge to it.

8O Don´t do it!!!!

I have very very dark hair and when I was 15 I had it streaked with bright orange "Fudge Dye". Before hand they had to bleach my hair blond.....it completely wrecked my hair....took months and months to grow out and I got suspended from school for 3 days!!!  Not a good look!

Now dont even get me started on when I went to the hairdressers to have my hair permantly wavey (or permed - I hate that word!!) !!!  Thats another horror story!

in 98 me an my pals followed the romanian's lead and all bleached our hair on a caravan holiday. We made the mistake of doing it pished, the results were amusing. Luckily, Id bumped into a hairdresser on site who was able to "rescue" my hair using what was left of the mix. still an utter mess. i cringe when i see those photo's now. funniest holiday i've ever been on though

Things Robder has put in his hair:

Perming lotion (left in so hair would dread 8O)...Also had my hair straightened with it once
Pure beeswax (when the above didn't work)
Sun-in
Domestos
Professional hair bleach (because the former went green )
Super glue (glued beads into dreadlocks but it burned the hair and it went brittle/snapped off )
...and every single colour you can imagine.

Now it's a tad messy - I'm trying to grow the back out again because I'm bored of being shaven headed...and I definately don't want to look like one of those tony & guyed metrosexual, 'I've got a designer mullet' twats (Nitefly would probably fancy me if I did ).

Oh God that wasn't aimed at you Sirens! xxx (feel guilty now - it's just an observation on the lack of people browsing the forums.)

Bars around Regent St??? - None.

I genuinely think all the bars around Regent St & Soho attract a bizarre tourist type crowd. Everyone's really busy and on the move or on the pull.

...If you're after the novelty factor though, the ice bar can be fun. It's just a different experience and a must at least once. ;)

Robder I didn't think you meant me, I was just agreeing with you. :)

I might try the Ice Bar, not really my choice going to Regent Street

You'll need to book in advance for that one - gets very busy at weekends and you're allocated a time slot of about 20 mins. ;)

When I was 15 I had a very large mohican hairstyle (my parents have a pic somewhere of me in my school uniform with my hair sticking up about 8-10 inches). Cue lots of letters to and from school who threatened to suspend me until a) the sides grew back, and b)I got the rest of it cut. When it was in full flourish it used to take half a tub of hair gel and a small tin of hairspray to do it right.

One of my best friends in school had a mohawk. He would go through cans of AquaNet hairspray in a matter of minutes

I've done it myself a couple of times as well, but only for Halloween.
