Biking lanes

The cause of cycle-tourism will be helped greatly by the new transport plan for Ibiza and Formentera. The plan envisages a network of cycle lanes along the highways and byways of the islands which will make life much easier for those who prefer pedal power.

Costing €1.6 million in total, the project will last 8 years and greatly increase the number of cycle lanes because at present Ibiza only has the paltry 5.1 kms of cycle lane which runs down to Salinas beach.

The provision of better facilities for cyclists is seen as another way of extending the tourist season as Ibiza's off-season climate is well suited for sports and outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling.

End quote

1. I did not know there was 5,1 kilometers of cycle lanes at Salinas?
2. Let them first do some research on this please! Of course you can extend the season with some GOOD facilities. But nowadays on Ibiza they are building sidewalks at spots nobody will walk, where there are no sidewalks at all te spots everybody has to walk.

It seems to me the officials never went from A to B. They just order a company to build something and inspect it after building if it was done as ordered, and then go sleep again.
