Best thing to bring back?

Whats the best thing i can buy in ibiza to bring back n show off?
 
good idea, but i was thinkin more along the lines of a record breakin cigar, or some lethal potion thats only legal outside of europe?
 
ahhh. my m8 brought bak a 2 n a half foot cigar bak from majorca about a month age... coughed my blookdy guts up!!!!! :lol: ;)
 
I always bring back the traditional souvenir: a bottle of the local liquor, hierbas. Went over well with the guys and girls in the office last year.
 
I brought a bottle back two weeks ago , as i had visions of sipping it through the winter to bring back memories of Ibiza.

One BBQ last week and it's all gone!!

It tastes like a much smoother version of Pernod.

Very nice on it's own or as a chaser to a cold beer.

I had the same plan 2 years ago... then one day I opened the cupboard after a few weeks and the damn bottle was empty! The wife (who hadn't gone with me that summer) drank it all.

I got a couple of bottles last year, one of which still has some left. FYI: I don't advise buying hierbas at the shop on the road between the port and Pacha in Ibiza town (just up from Burger King). It's homemade, less commercial, supports a small business owner.... and not half as good as the brand you get in the supermarket (or airport) in the fancy bottle.

that herbias is it aka jaegermeister??? or is that somat different??

I don't think so, they are called Herbes Eivissenques or Hierbas Ibicencas.
Drink it very cold after lunch or dinner, very tasty digestive

no, it's not like jaegermeister, I don't think. it's a herb-flavored liquor made from herbs grown right on the island (and no, not those kind of herbs!). it's classified as a 'digestive', decently strong, somewhat sweet, and a little similar to cough syrup.

I think it's somewhat of an acquired taste, but I like it.

Agreed - there's some right ropey versions around. They might be the authentic ones - but not for me.

The Hierbas in the long "decanter- type" bottle is the one to go for.

Good point... there is also some decent locally-made absinthe. Bought a little bottle of that last year and it went very fast...
