I need some advice from all you restaurants connoissuers 8O

As a "well done" for passing our final exams, Jon's boss has insisted Jon take me out to a restaurant of our choice, for a meal and drinks all for free :p

So far I've looked at Langans, Babylon Rooftop Gardens and Gordon Ramsey.... Langans being my favourite so far because the other two are a bit posh 8O

Does anyone else have any recommendations? We want something nice and romantic, with good food i.e a nice steak, but nothing too posh that we'll feel awkard if we go there. We want somewhere where we can have a good chat and enjoy our meal rather than feel out of our league because Lord and Lady Loaded are dining next to us

Honestly Bec the ones I suggested aren't posh, come on do me and Tom do posh

Personally I'd prob do Langans, have you looked at the menu on the Langans website, that should get your mouth watering ;)

I know I thought "well it cant be that posh if they let Babs in  ;) but I couldnt even work out most of the things on the menu at Gordon Ramsey! I mean, whats:

"Roasted tranche of foie gras with caramelized endives, carrot puree and Saiternes jus"

8O :?

Langans looks deeee-lish though! Cod and chips and big steaks :p

Hi Becki, well done to you and Jon for passing your exams - good on ya, it was worth all the weekends of not being led astray 8)

We went to Gordon Ramsey a few weeks ago for Ben's birthday and I have to say it was lovely. It wasn't poncey at all and you won't feel intimidated there. The staff are really attentive and explain anything on the menu you don't understand. Even when they bring the food to your table they go through what you have ordered. The somelier was really helpful and I would definitely recommend going - we had a truly wonderful time and will definitely be going back ;)

Thanks Karen :D I'm just so relieved the exams are over now, I wouldnt want to take them again in a hurry :spank:

I really fancy Gordon Ramsey as it's had so many good reviews but I wanted somewhere where we could enjoy ourselves too without worrying whether we were eating with the right cutlery
I want it to be quite fancy though seeing as we're not paying, so maybe I'll give it a shot!

How much would you say a three course meal plus drinks would be?
