Anyone got any good tips for clubbing in Bangkok?

well if you want normal clubs which decent EDM..
you can try..
narcisus
ministry of sound

if you are looking for girls or boys etc.. shows..
try NANA or PATPONG

I think the Ministry has closed down due to drug busts.

Pat Pong is not funny - it's offensive - Westerners exploiting Thai women and young boys with their wallets.

(400b on market stalls/street cleaning vs 4000b taking a fat old westerner home for the night?) - URGH.

I wouldn't bother with narcisus either (sorry to poo poo all your suggestions!  )...it's very naff.

A good place on Silom Soi 4 (I think) is called Tapas. Lovely small venue with live percussion, lovely music and v classy atmosphere!

The other good option is Faith.

Hope that helps - if you can see past all the craziness, Bangkok is a fabulous city! 8)

kind of depends what you want to hear - trance & techno for example isn´t that big in BKK. Some options:

Narcissus is beautiful, music can be so-so. Entry is 500 Baht incl 2 drinks (Vodka/Redbull for example) = 10,- Euro
Sometimes Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold play there, unfortunately never when I´m around - but then it should be quality.

Crowd is about 5% non-Thai, I´d say, and the Thai who go there are a bit "better situated".

Oh, outside even taxis are stopped regularily by the police for controls. So be a nice guy and stay with Vodka.

Lucifer: whenever I had a look into Lucifer it wasn´t really that full. A shame actually, nice club. Friends spent banging nights there, so maybe give it a try.

Been to Ministry of Sound in 2002 and it was damned packed and very very good - got closed, then renamed, then I think closed again. Don´t know if it´s still operating as "Double O" again.

Cafe de Moc near Kao San has some trance and techno nights on, haven´t been there.

Heard that the licensing in Bangkok means everywhere shuts at 1am.
Is this true?

Would we be better off staying in Pataya?

Pattaya is the pi$$ pot of the world! Don't go there at all costs unless you like tacky neon sh!te...Bangkok is much more real (even if the licensing laws are crap)

there are exception areas - eg Narcissus has a 2am license, Lucifer as far as I know also.
