ANDY WILSON has been helping organise the sale of large parts of JOSE PADILLA’S record collection! Yes, the inspirational Ibiza DJ/compiler/producer has decided to allow huge chunks of his remarkable music collection to go to new homes. Jose tells me that it’s a clearing out of his head and his living space, or “a life laundry… good Feng Shui!” as he actually explained it. He reckons that with over 20,000 records in his collection he’ll never be able to play them all again, especially with far more new sounds arriving every day, so he is intent upon divesting himself of half the collection. Mostly it’s going via gemm.com, the page being http://bellamusica.gemm.com with new material continually being added. It’s every kind of sound, from Jazz, to Techno, to Chill-out, to Electronica, to Deep House, to Balearic classics.​

JOSE PADILLA has a new compilation out on the Resist label called ‘Cafe Solo’, with him currently working on the next volume. He’s also putting together another in his own ‘Bella Musica’ compilation series, plus a Brazilian album called ‘Barzil’. There’s also a classic Latin music remix project he’s putting together for the legendary Salsa label Fania. On the DJ front the Café Del Mar’s most famous ex-jock can be found enjoying himself in Ibiza spinning at Playa Codolar for Macao Cafe each Tuesday.​

bruno, another ex-cafe del mar resident, will be at macao on september 15th and 22nd.....

autumn update: open daily for lunch (with 10€ menu del dia mon to fri) and tuesday to saturday for dinner (with movie dinner on tue featuring a movie in the lounge) :!:

btw, from october 8th their sunday roast is back!! :idea:

btw, during the summer the label also hosted the listen parties at sunset ashram on tuesdays and wednesdays with both djs.....

Great restaurant! We stayed in a villa just a few hundred metres away (2006) and went to Aura a couple of times. Great food, great atmosphere and there was a waitress which was so nice, almost unbelieveble. I think she was from South Africa or something. Does somebody maybe remember her? Even got to meet the guy from the Funky Room over there.. El Cielo ;)
