Ive lived here for 13 years and im in el-lovo.....its a really great country to live apart from the crime which is abit of a problem...... :( The night life is gr8 here also, lots of different clubs/bars and very diverse.....

hi, and welcome. never been to S A, but it is on my list of places to go. I have a friend who's just moved back out there after living over here for many years.

It looks like such a beautiful place, maybe at the end of this year beginning of next we'll make it out there 8)

Thanx for the welcome..! :D
I think u should def make a trip out here....I love the life here....sun, sea, warm weather....its really nice...I stay in Durban which is on the coast, I love Cape Town the best though, absolutley amazing place, very cosmopolitan.....
Thinking of going to the UK at the end of the year for about a year tho.....have to get some travelling in but it will be hard to pull myself away from this place.......

Yes will def be going up table moutain (even though that cable car scares the s$£t out of me!)
Thanks for the tip about clothes, what about things like diamonds? are they alot cheaper? not that I am planning on buying any!

haha....me too, I was 10 when I first went on it and it was the older cable car....i held onto my dads arm very tightly!! they have a newer cable car and tis very safe....
Diamonds are alot cheaper cos south africa has so many diamond mines....i know they are much more affordable than with you.......
You have to try two things when u are here tho...."biltong" and "boerewors" typically south african....!!!

Hi Jemma
I've been to SA loads of times, I have family who live in PE and also my uncle lives in Swaziland, although he has a lovely house on the beach in Salt Rock, not too far from you.
One of the most beautiful countries I've been to 8)

oh and if u are looking for a very stylish night out on the town you must try "opium" and "the purgatory".....two new clubs in cape town but very nice.....think colin farrel has been too both.....

my friend lives in Cape Town, my bf has been a couple of times and said that I will love it. He says about the beach with all the penguins on it, and how weird it is to see them there, but that they're there because the sea is so cold.

Hi Jemma,

Welcome to the forum.

I've never been to South Africa, but the girl i work with is from Durban and she's always homesick ! Another girl i work with (i'm a lucky man :D ) is going to Cape Town tomorrow !

I've seen programmes on the television and South Africa looks beautiful...maybe i'll get the chance to visit one day...

Hi Jemma - welcome ;)

We're coming out in April for our honeymoon (BBS and I) - sooooooo excited! Going on safari first which I am really nervous about because I'm terrified of monsters (creepy crawlies) and then on to Capetown.

I'll definitely be picking your brains in the next few weeks.

Am sat at my desk just beaming at the thought of our trip :D

The thought off what biltong is will make your squeamish.....its raw dried meat, but its reeeeeallly nice....you can get all different flavours like spicy, garlic and stuff, its quite expensive tho.....boerewors is a sausage thats a typical food eaten when you braai (barbeque)......
Ples for the club advice...you also must try go to Caprice in Camps Bay, its right on the beach and the place to be seen....... 8)

Hi Kang.....thats really exciting.......im jealous tho....also wanna go to cape town.... :( haha....no but seriously you are going to have one fab time there for sure....
Creep Crawlies.....there are quite a few off them but like any country just ours are abit more scarier than some places!!!!! :) Just kidding, but I warn you when you see a cockroach it is normal procedure to run as fast as you can....nothing to be ashamed off....well thats what I keep telling myself anyway!!!
Feel free to ask me any ques about SA, happy to help where I can........ :D

I went to Cape Town a few years ago. Loved the place. So beautiful. Wanna go back for New Year there again soon.

The wine route is good fun if you don't mind the amount of Ya Yas!

Can't recomend the place enough! 8)

Oh I know the dried meat you mean, my ex boyfriend was from SA and whenever his relatives came over to visit they would bring some (even though I think it's illigal to bring meat through customs!)

I am actually pescaterian now so wont be trying it, but i'm sure my friends will definatey be trying it!

Is it hot out there at the moment?
