Another car rent thread (sorry)

Hey all,
I did a search for hiring and renting a car, but all the threads were pretty old and didn't want to dig up one so thought I'd start a new one.

My group and I are thinking about renting a car for a day, maybe 2, to explore the island since we didn't get to last time. I read in a couple threads a place near the West End/Cafe Del Mar where they do good deals... my questions are how much does it cost to rent a decent car, what is needed to rent a car and would there still be cars available if we just walked there one day and get one or reserve in advance??

I've only ever rented a car for the whole week, I've never paid more than £20 per day, this year I booked online before going with Alamo & the whole week only cost £118 sorry I hope you can convert that into Canadian money. I would steer clear of the offers in your hotel. You'll get a better deal if you just walk down the street to the local car hire place. Good luck ;)
 
hertz from ibiza airport will give you a hire car for £110 for a week ... usually top cars , brand new , no rusty rattlers ..


i rented an alfa 146 brand new with 50 kms on the clock last year... managed to prang it a bit at the end of the rent and they only charged me 30 euros for the numberplate ..... many of the other guys will charge you the full 600 euro excess

just get one for the whole week...... i have never gone to ibiza over thelast 10 years without renting a hire car ... me and a frind always split it and for 60 notes each for the week, its a bargain


it lets you see the whole island without having to worry about buses/taxis/mates/hitching /DISCO BUS !!!
 
I checked the prices/deals with about 8 different companies here on the net at home. The cheapest was www.amigoautos.com - very cheap indeed and everything included, and new cars.
 
as funkster100 mentioned amigoautos.com are excellent. I rented a five seater Renault scenic for 6 days for Euro 293. You pay by credit card when they deliver you the car, nothing in advance. Their cars are brand new and fully insured.
